Just saying hi :)
« on: October 04, 2007, 07:07:03 AM »
Bought my QB78D overe here in Holland a little while ago after reading a great deal about it. Have to say that I was, and still am, very impressed by the quality of the gun and the accuracy. Ordered a sealkit from Charlie which arrived within 4 days, but to be honest, I haven't installed it yet. This gun shoots so damn well that I rather shoot it than take it apart while the weather still allows it :)

I did work the trigger though, took it apart, polished the contactarea's and worked on the general fitting to take the sideway play out of it (sidewayplay is not a big thing, but it bothers me)  What already was a very nice trigger turned into being a sweet one easily :)

Been shooting it between 10 to 35 meters so far, so up to around 40 yards. Keeps POI at POA till 20 meters before it starts shifting down, and at 40 yards I can still hit 5cm/2" targets every shot if I put my mind to it but that really seems to be the limit though, but that's not bad at all.  It has got a 4x32 scope on it, but I've ordered a 3-9x40 since the rifle seems up for shooting at 20+ meters.

It's got company now, bought a 2240 as well which Im currently upgrading with some fancy, but needed, kit. New grips, new breech,  14" .177 barrel. That 2240 is going to cost me the equivalant of 2 QB78's.... but hey, it's fun too.

Nice forum btw, looking forward to reading it!

Denile Jason? I can quit any time I want I just uhh umm well uhh I dont wanna yeah thats it I dont wanna. Hehe welcome to the GTA Elmar. I am really happy that people keep on buying these QB's because that means they will be around for a while and not just a passing fad.... although I guess guns do go in cycles it seems. But the QB is just a very respectable rifle for the money you shell out for it. Fun, easy to shoot and umm fun ......did I say fun?

A Big Welcome Elmar. The QB is a favorite around here as well. Lots of info found here on the QB. Check out the GTA Library as well. What do you shoot during the cold season?

Thanks for the welcome all and I will make sure to read the other parts of the forum as well. So far have gotten quite a bit info and deffy some good reads from it.

When the weather starts getting colder here, I can open the gardendoors and sit in the livingroom, I end up with an approx. 15 meters range that way.  Nothing like sitting nice and warm with a cup of coffee while plinking through the opened gardendoors :) Unfortunatly my wife thinks doing so is, well, not really normal so basically I just end up shooting very little. When its snowing or raining I dont shoot either.

Just wanted to welcome you to the forums Elmar.  Glad to hear you are enjoying your QB.  I have 2 of em, .177 and .22, and love both of em.  Great shooting guns.  Will be looking forward to your future posts.....

A big welcome to you Elmar and glad you found this "A GREAT PLACE TO BE".   :) It sure didn't take long for the kit to get there... that was quick. Don't tear it down just yet though.  I sent you a PM regarding something that you will find extremely helpful and interesting.. 8)

Hey Bob,

Got your message and just send you an email. Weather is still good here so it's not been taken apart yet :P
Yeah, I was pretty amazed by how fast that kit got over here. Seems US airmail is pretty fast, got my 2240 grips and breech within 4 days after they were sent as well.

Thanks again for sending me the link to GTA!
