BSA Huntsman 8-32x40
« on: March 13, 2008, 09:16:18 AM »

i recently bought yet another BSA scope because it seems they're more often a hit than miss. This one falls somewhere in between,. Closer to hit!

It's long at 17" over all with the bungeed caps on. Thats right bungee cord caps. This must be an older model Contender or something, since the Contender is the only other BSA scope that comes in 8-32x40.

It is a fantastic, clear 8-20 x40 or so scope but from there on up things get a little foggy. Not so bad that it's unuseable but certainly not as good as it is when below 20 power or so. Above that you have to be very careful with eye placement as it will black out on you without notice. Sometimes it will give notice in the form of it getting very foggy before complete blackness.

This doesn't happen all the time so maybe it's the mounting job I did?

After learning this I was successful  shooting with it at 35 yards and actually quite happy. Maybe because I've never owned a Nikkon or will ever own a Zeiss or maybe its because it is useable, pretty good and $59.00 at Sportsmans guide?
