Crosman 1377c pistol
« on: September 13, 2006, 09:25:47 AM »
The other day I ordered a Crosman 1377c .177 pump pistol after reading quite a few reviews on the gun @ "review centre" and also on Pyramydair.  All the reviews were basically good, and mentioned that the pistol has a fair amount of power, however I didn't run across any reviews that specifically dealt with using it for small game hunting.  I bought it mostly just because I wanted a pistol, it was inexpensive and I liked what I read about the gun, but I would like to use it to shoot rabbits and squirrels if it's powerful enough.    I was just wondering if any of you have used the pistol for hunting at close range and if so what info/opinions you can give me as to it's suitability for hunting.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.....

Jeff,

I have had my pistol for about two years. I have a Simmons 2x20 pistol scope on it and it shoots like a rifle. It is much more accurate than I am. I use mine for pest control in the back yard and it works well with head shots at 10 - 15 yds. I use Crosman Accu - Pell, 8.0 gr. pellets in mine. It is a little loud with 10 pumps. I plan on doing some " MODS " on mine when things are slow and I work - up the nerve. Best of luck and enjoy your new pistol...

Just checked the UPS website and the tracking information says the pistol should arrive at my doorstep this afternoon.  Absolutely can't wait !!  It's been way to long since a new airgun arrived at my house.  If it stop raining I'll set up the target in the back yard and start shooting as soon as it arrives.  I'll make sure I post my review on it after I get used to the gun.  I'm thinking of ordering the shoulder stock and scope intermounts but I'll wait until I have a chance to try the gun out the way it is.

Jeff,

If you are going to mount a scope on the 1377 C, use the Crosman 459 MTC Intermount scope mounts. They are the better ones. Best of luck...

That sounds just like what I want to hear Yote.  the UPS guy just handed me the box about 30 minutes ago.  I took it down to my workbench and cleaned all the grease of it and read the instruction book that came with it.  I haven't shot it yet, don't know if I will get to today, but tomorrow for sure I'll put some pellets through it and see what happens.  I like the way it feels in my hand and while I will admit that I now know what people were referring to when they described the plastic grips/stock as "cheezy", I have to say that they really don't bother me that much.  It's comfortable to hold, seems to have a good balance, and for the price if it's accurate enough to take out a bunny or two at close range I will be more than satisfied with it.  Anyway, I'll post a review after I get a chance to spend some time getting to know it.  Thanks for all your advice/info on the gun guys.

My customized 1377 & my customized 1322 Both are hard hitting accurate and extremely fun to shoot as well as  beautful to look at.

Those are very nice Pistolaro... They don't call you Pistolaro for nothin...:)  A very good friend of mine sold me one his at a bargain. I want to do the wooden grips and lever. I have not shot it yet. Gonna put a 10 inch barrel on it when he finds time to help me with it.

Gene the 1377 COMES with a 10" barrel from the factory. you must either be changing caliber or doing a different barrel length.

Not being familiar with the 1377, I stuck my foot in my mouth once again..:) It is a 14" barrel that he has that we will install later on. First I must learn to shoot it and check out the scopes and mounts as you did.

Thanks for the correction...:)
