Tuning for the first time...

Witht the immenent arrival of my second springer it's time for me to start thinking about tuning my first. Said first is a Gamo Varmint Hunter. I've already installer a CDT trigger (before I even shot it ten times) and I think I'm ready for the next step. I'd like to take out the crunch and twang now that I understand what they are (I think). So maybe a good cleaning and lube is called for. Has anyone put together and "Idiots" guide to DIY Airgun tuning? or atleast point me in the right direction. Should I do more than just a lube; new spring, seals, etc?

I am NO expert but I did stay at a holiday in last night, yea ha ha   I read this and it gave some confidence now on tune #2 well 3rd my first gun and now I have tired 3-4 times on my last one ,don't ask any pros there is a code of silence

The 13 part tune is a pretty good write-up, but it does not include any work in the compression chamber (honing) and also has some lubes mixed up. It actually recommends using a thin layer of moly inside the chamber, which surely will cause detonation (fire- baaad! ) CDT has a great write up on tuning a B-19, which can be easily adapted to pretty much any rifle. That write-up is actualy still posted somewhere... wink, wink, nudge, nudge
