Crosman too greedy
« on: March 16, 2008, 03:16:14 AM »
I received my .22 disco with pump and co2 tank but to learn Crosman was not including the co2 adapter with the gun (cant shoot it without the adapter) left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Would they have sold me a MK I with no piercing cap in the 60s.
Very bad attempt by the Crosman beancounters to gouge the public. $60 for an item that was to come with the gun as stated in crosman ads band by Pyramyd air, is a unconcsciousable attempt by Crosman to gouge the public.

Im very unhappy. The gun shoots fine, both sights were not installed tightly and blue finish was not polished to normal Crosmabn standards.

The Discovery add on the Crosman site makes it pretty clear that the CO2 adapter is an accessory.

What should Crosman GIVE away?

I guess I miss the concept. When you go to buy a tire, should a new rim be included? Or maybe the brake rotor and spindle should be included too? What other $200 range lower pressurePCP are available right now?
`
I could see being upset if it were missing the trigger, hammer, valve, etc - but I've bought painball parts, fittings, hoses and adapters and lemme tell you that those items cost a bloody mint. Rightly so, however, as what restrains high pressure gases is seriousmaterials manufactured to high tolerances.
`
Next time you're ready to sell an airgun, think back about this andwhat you would like toGIVE away. Mounts, rings, glass, slings, swivels, adapters, etc all have a cost, so how many of the above should be GIVEN during this hypotheticalsale?
`
Not meaning to rant, but I think for the price point,Crosman is putting out fantastic products.
`
`
Awesome stuff, Crosman

I think this gun's main purpose was to be used mostly as a PCP with the option of using Co2 if you wanted to.

Considering that there is nothing else to really compare it to at the price point, it's in a class of it's own and for that Crosman will sell tons of these.
.22 Discovery 4x16x40 Centerpoint
.22 Beeman SS1000 4x16x56 Centerpoint
.22 2250XT 6x32 Centerpoint
.22 Custom 2240 Tasco Red-Dot w/bling

And various other pistols too
