Shoot a ground hog, no targets!

So I dispatched a ground hog that was tunneling under on of my sheds, now I know I have seen 3-4 others and they have been MIA for
weeks. I've tried tossing out some cut up apples to attract them into my shooting corridor but no luck.

I understand that the smell of death and blood can repel animals and maybe I should wash the area down...on the other hand, getting rid of the critters was the goal to begin with so I am
torn =D

I've got a ground hog living under the shed in my yard but I can never get a shot at him.  He comes out to feed early and late, but at even the slightest noise or sight of a human he's off running.  My neighbor has one under his shed also and the othe day I saw "his" chuck  run over to "visit" my chuck.  I guess I can assume they're mating so I may have a couple more targets in the future.
