I like basket weave too, my belts are basket weave, my banjo strap is basketweave ,now my grips are the same,
Sorry but i cheated ,i used high speed engraver ,400,000 rpm,or 6,000  per second!!, I have a lot to learn but very enjoyable ,when not shooting, :)

I took about 3 hr. each piece,not each side ,with a few breaks in between. The pixs here are blurry ,doesn,t show  the detail.

I myself have made a Talon gripset or two and I can say that is some of the best work I have seen yet.  Keep it up!
