Krew-
The RWS adjustable one piece scope mount was on mine when I got it. I'm assuming it's been there for about 7 yrs.
I've had it a short while and see no problems with it. The scope is a Bushnell 4X Sportsview. Had issues when I recieved it because things (mount) was out of whack. After centering the scope adjustments (was near both ends), remounting, and adjusted mount (way, way off!) it seems fine. Not overly thrilled with the sharpness, but couldbe my old eyes. Hear a lot of "good things" about Simons on higher powered springers.

About the loading for small fingers;
I'm over 6', unusually big hands (so they say) and I'm a southpaw. I have no problem whatsoever with loading this 48. If the scope was longer I would. But with the port clearly open I really like it. Just get the pellet started about 3/4 of the way and let the ram seat to consistant depth seems to be a plus also for better accuacy. (at least in mine for me)

at the moment tasco 3-9x32 ao airgun scope and 2 piece 4 bolt sportsmatch mounts, every screw on the scope needs to be thread locked or the head covered with a dab of clear nail varnish, tried the scope out before thread locking etc and lots of bits started to come loose but no problems since and no movement from scope or mounts before or after, not the best scope in the world but for its price and versatility i have no real complaints, i prefer fixed magnification and fixed ao, but for messing with and for getting some idea of what you like and don't like in a scope i think it would make a good starting point

HTH

great gun for $300 my 52 cost me more than that just shy of 18 years ago, enjoy

Hi Kawena, Tim here!  I can speak from hands on exp. ,, the Diana 48 side lever is a fine gun & VERY accurate. I do not know what type of scope combo Cobra is selling,, you say Leapers scope?? (Maybe Cobra is putting together a package of thier own???) If it is the standard RWS (Umarex) package,, I would have to say,, buy the gun only!! You can not in my opinion go wrong with a Diana 48 in any way. Besides,, the open sights on Diana guns are pretty decent,, & it is best that you run a tin or two of pellets thru your new gun before you mount a scope anyway. (Gives it a chance to "Break in & Smooth out") Alot of "bad rap" I have read latlely about Diana guns being too "dry"?? Personaly I think thats hogwash. The 34,s  48,s I have set up in the last 2 years seemed fine to me. (Of course they could benefit from a tune with proper lubes)  Get yourself a 48 if you have small to med. sized fingers to load it,LOL!!  Are you confused now?? HE HE HE!!  Tim.

Hogwash it may be now, Tim, but my "new old stock" Model 46 (built April of 2000) was as dry as a bone inside and out. I've since installed a Maccari seal and tune kit with his lubes in all the right places....
