I just got this email
« on: September 08, 2008, 12:04:18 PM »

I have to past this on. I know it may send the Obamanation into an up roar but I don't give a s***. I'm 37 years old and if they would let me go back I'd pack my stuff kiss my kids and jump on the next flight out. You know it's not tragic to die for what's right. This guy hits the nail on the head.

GREAT POST Jason,

It brought memories and tears to my eyes, and when he walked away......well !

I have seen many disabled Vietnam veterans, and while there is worse than amputations, I can't imagine it. I havemeet, and known, triple amputees, and even cried with them, everyone of those that I had meet, committed suicide shortly after there release !

No matter what happened to me, over their, I am truly thankful that I returned whole, and my injuries healed, at least on my body ! The memories of those left behind, and those wounded worse than I, will remain in my heart forever. I don't ever want to forget my brave friends and comrades I had while I was there, they were the best and the bravest men, I will ever know !

"it reminds me of something we used to say when I got back from Viet Nam..."If you weren't there then shut the %@*& up"."

I am also a vet of that time and believe you are wrong. Who do you think paid for us being there? The American Taxpayers. Who do you think ordered that wasted war and then failed to support our guys by giving them everything needed to do the job? The politicians, starting with Eisenhower.

If you did not register and vote during that time, in country or not, my view is that is the only qualifier for keeping silent. No vote, no right to complain. Even grunts could register & vote.

Our "leadership" has since admitted we should not have been there and were not given the means to win.

We are repeating the stupidity now.

I support the military as they do their job. I support Bush as an International War Criminal and I will gladly donate to his prosecution fund. He is getting our kids killed for no good reason in a country we have no real interest in. A country that was and is no threat to the US.

Our military do what is ordered and gets *_*_*_*_*_*ed on. Our 'leaders' do whatever they want and walk away with cushy retirement packages. How many of their kids are in Iraq or were in Desert Storm or VietNam? Not many. If their kids were first to go we would seldom venture past Illinois.

I've never been represented in the US, because the constitution was hollowed out and gutted before the majority of us were evenborn.
In 1913 our souls were sold to the banking cartels under the ruse of the Fed Reserve, and the deadly mayhem has been for the warprofits to those bloated power brokers ever since.

Mahonri; Should you find that 'prosecution fund' please let me know, I'll be glad to participate.   Can Pelosi be charged with 'aiding and abetting?  A citizen can not lie to a Federal Officer, but a Leader can lie to the American people and get away with it.  Virtue should run both up and down the chain of command.  jeep98

I knew this would generate heat and it is a perfect post to draw out how we all have our own beliefs on how the government is run. Provided someone decides to take on the government and wants to try Bush for war crimes lets not forget to try all of Congress that approved the war as well. If that were to prevail Obama would be President because he is the only one that wasn't around in 2001. War is ugly and it only proves who lasted longer. I will never be stopped because it generates money for wealty which to give J his props is the highend bankers. No matter what we believe no matter who we vote for we are screwed. Everyone of us have our own personal agenda some just have the power to execute it.

By your logic, then, every member of Congress who voted to go to war and who voted to continue to fund the war is an International War Criminal. You may be a veteran of the Vietnam war, but you certainly have very strange ideas about war crimes.  Maybe that hero, John Kerry can straighten you out.  Seems to me that you just harbor an irrational hate Bush 43 to the point you see only your own "truth".

And by the way, perhaps it was Eisenhower who first sent some troops to Southeast Asia, but it was JFK and LBJ who definitely escalated the war and screwed things up.  Remember the "credibility gap"?  What ever else you think about Richard Nixon, he at least ended the draft and got us our of a war America could not win, particularly when it was being fought by politicians with some damned screwy rules of engagement. Do you think Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson were International War Criminals as well?  How about Clinton, lobbing a couple of Cruise missiles in on an aspirin factory on the eve of his testimony about Monica Lewinski?  Was that an International War Crime, too, or just poor judgement?

So, blame America first, right?  9/11 was just a misunderstanding, Sadam wasn't that bad.  The sarin and mustard gas used on the Kurds was just an aberration.  Things were better when the Moslems were just killing each other.  The skud missiles couldn't hit us, anyway.  The Iranians are probably only going to use their nuclear capabilities to generate power.  The previous attempts to blow up the twin towers, the USS Cole, the US Embassies in several countries, and all the international acts of terrorism were just flukes.  And America has no real national interest in the Persian Gulf region and the free flow of oil at market prices anyway, right?

I'm amazed that service members continue to support McCain, since he voted against additional troop funding forthe years 2003-2007--just like Bush. I wonder if that guy ever spent any time in a V.A. hospital. The one I've been in is inadequately staffed and stocked-thanks to a lack of funding.  I wonder if he knows that McCain refused to meet with the Iraq vets who are now opposing the war.
I support every American soldier- everyplace on this planet- but I cannot support a government who just refuses to take care of it's own people-especially it's soldiers. Hell, That seems criminal in itself.
This is a war for profit. It's becoming increasingly obvious. A lot of our troops have recognized it, as well.
We don't go to war to protect freedom and democracy any longer. We go to war for power, resources, control, and the dollar. It's a good thing that China isn't the worlds major oil supplier.
The entire world has watched this country change.
We haven't been watching as the constitution has been slowly rewritten; words redefined, and amendments attached. Our new policy is--If it isn't constitutional--change the constitution and make it so.
Yes, Bush is a criminal. So were many before him.
It is an interesting time to be alive.

George Bush is NOT a criminal.
Your understanding of the reasons behind war is apparently as vapid as your other comments.

We have gone to war for many reasons. In general, we initiated few large conflicts. Even Vietnam began as an uprising of Communists against the French colonialists. Kennedy and Johnson escalated our involvement, and Johnson directed the losing strategy. The Constitution is vague regarding war powers, but certainly gives the Commander in Chief authority to the President.

I'd say you are repeating the diatribe of the Democrats who want power, and want to change the constitution so that the Federal government is no longer responsible for defense, but constitutionally (or perhaps unconstitutionally) responsible for global warming and the feeding, education, and housing of every citizen. I think you need to read the constitution, sir.

I am a Republican, and believe strongly that the Federal government should be smaller, should have less responsibility for "taking care of its people". The belief in entitlement fostered by Democrats is dangerous. Regarding VA hospitals, well the ones I've been in aren't too bad. They take of veterans of all ages for anything they need, something like the big County hospitals that offer free care. So far as I can see, veterans receive pensions, disability payments, and medical care at high standards, and it is certainly not Republicans who stand in the way of improvement. Do you expect improvements if Barack Hussein Obama gains power? Good luck on that one. He will cut military spending to the bone.

I support a very strong, well equipped, and ready armed force - as does the US Constitution - and I support its use in preemptory fashion. History will tell us whether we did the right thing, but if Democrat "leadership" like Jimmy Carter is what you want, you had better be prepared to do more that rant and call out labels before the election, because I'll be one of many doing what I can to win this election, and to keep control out of the hands of the demagogs.
