It's my impression that only those within the inner circle should post and all others just read. The times I have posted I have felt like an intruder so I rarely do any more. But thanks to Fix and a couple of others I have gained some good knowledge so I am content to lurk..Others can speak for themselves. Tnibender, ask and ye shall receive...

And before someones nose gets bent this isn't meant to demean or criticize any members or this site in general. It's a common occurrence on any site with long time members..

Gerit, you are the very first member since the GTA opened it's doors that said there was a click or inner circle. There are hundreds of posts welcoming new members and we always express the fact the we want your input and pictures of your stable of air guns. The GTA's strength is a whole and not just a hand full of people. You and everyone else on the GTA have a part in the way it is operated. We have moderator's who watch for unhealthy posts etc. We have our policies and try our best to abide by them.

I am truly sorry that we have made you feel like an intruder and I want to apologize.  We are one big family and not just a bunch of inner circles. Due to illness I was not here for several months but we all try to respond to anyone who has a question or needs information. That is our main purpose.

Please do not hesitate to email or pm me if you have any questions or need help with anything.

Hey Moe:),

I do understand what you are saying and have sensed this in others. Gene is right that the idea they built the site on " BY AND FOR THE MEMBERS" is appreciated by and worked on by allot of people.

I'm not an Internet guy myself so I mess up things that many here must think are simple. Probably sent JAYMO and FIX about 10 Private Mails because I didn't think they were sending :) Still trying to do the picture thing. If someone wants to think I'm dumb.......Don't care, I'll try my best anyway.

You are right in that human nature is everywhere here. The VETS may have a circle because they jumped in and talked and got to know each other. Now they are more comfortable talking:) Where we can make instant friendships talking face to face I think this takes more effort ie. I'm the worst typist on the face of the planet:)
It is natural for people like us who don't know anyone to be a little intimidated at first. All human nature.
Some fortunate folks are very proud of what they did with high tech stuff and they should be:)

I'm here to tell you that I admire the low tech efforts as much as any others and invite ALL interested to show us your ideas.............Couldn't possibly any sillier than some of mine :)

Tinbendin' Dave

It\'s OK to explain why it won\'t work, but I like to give the guys making it work plenty of room:)

Dave thank you for your comments. One thing we do not want to happen is like on other forums, are clicks, and trolls. We want all members to understand that the GTA is different. That we all respect each other, each other's idea's, each other's tastes, etc. etc. We are adults and are trying to have fun with our hobby/sport. There is no question, no matter how dumb it may seem that will not be replied to in a respectful manner or constructive criticism. We are all equals with different tastes. And like you say, the GTA belongs to the members and the members make the GTA what it is.

And Moe and Dave if youneed help want to ask a questionthen feel free to PM or Email any one of us and we will give you the best answer possible.

I do not think Bob has missed not relieving to emails more than once in his life.. LOL But be patient for an answer or just post it in the forums. No one will make you feel stupid or talk down to you because we all were there before you.hehehe

I just read your post,,,, about 10 times. I must say the part that you feel lke an "Intruder" honestly breaks my heart. I dont mind admitting I honestly have tears in my eyes as I,m typing this. What a horible feeling. Lots of times I dont respond,, because I dont have an answer cause I just dont know that much. Will say though,, what little I do know was mostly learned------ you guessed it,, right here at GTA!!  I dont know the exact #,, but,,  last time I checked,, I think you are right about the "Inner Circle" thing,, seems there are about 2400 people within the "Inner Circle"!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rest assured Mr Moe,,, YOUR IN BUDDY!!!  I,ll be looking forward to many posts from you in the future Mr. Moe,, WELCOME to the "Inner Circle"!! Your Friend in S.C.,,,, Tim.

Hi Tim,

No I don't feel like an Intruder :) Just trying to help make people feel that there is room for all of us. I have thought of wether this might increase the work load of folks that answer posts? Have been trying to read as much as possible and say something that might be a benefit when possible. Spend much more time in the shop since it interests me to see what others are playing with :)

Please understand I honestly thank you all.

Tinbendin' Dave :)

fix - 9/16/2008  1:30 PM

Moes just a cranky ole buzzard.:) with a heart of gold.... i know.

Now ya done it Fix. I'll have to take back seat to Dangerfield now. Not an excuse, but close to a quarter century in the military, 59-82, must have desensitized me. I don't realize that words have consequences and my use of the word intruder was inappropriate on a forum with such great folks. My intent, clumsy as it was, tried to point out what I am guilty of myself at another forum where I am a long time member. If a post languishes and falls off the page with no response some more sensitive folks will take that as a "get lost" sign. I don't know squat about airguns even though I am an expert with firearms so I don't have answers. This is a whole nuther world.

Gene, you and all the other members to a person are first rate. If anyone got the impression I think otherwise please erase that thought.

Two observations. How the "H" do ya put smilies in a reply. If I knew how my post may have been interpreted entirely different and IMHO this whole thread would be better off in the dead letter file.

Y'all have a great day..

Ya want a shot? How bout 1200 yds. AI-AW .308  Course I know this is an airgun forum.  How bout tree rat at 75 yds with a .177  Hed shot( of course) saves the meat for my dobbies.  DODAH  DO DAH!!!!  B

P>S> try one on the run in an old growth forest at 100 yds. Takes several beers, but loads of fun if ya neighbers don't call the fuzz.

I ain't too cranky, but at 64 I am a semi old fart too.  Passin it on is good as long as it is ( at least ) usefull. Lots of you dudes are way technical, which helps us dummies to catch a glimpse of the technology available for us to ponder in our miniscule minds. Even with my machine shop experience I stand humble in your presence. But i can still hit the target at 1200 yds. Not that anyone cares bout powder shooters in an airgun world.  Beer cans at 100 yds with a breakbarrel springer does make me proud, though.  THANX  B
