Yeah, you'd think he'd be viewed as an apostate, for which the penalty is death in Islamic sharia. However, how do Muslims themselves perceive Obama? They have a choice between Christian (as he has publicly presented himself), Muslim, or apostate.
The Muslim world seems strangely eager to count him as one of their own. The press in Indonesia, where he attended madrassa in his youth, report that his school records record him as Muslim. Libya's Qaddafi refers to him as a Muslim, and says that Obama has an African and Islamic identity. America's own homegrown Nation of Islam's leader, Louis Farrakhan, calls him "the hope of the entire world".
Also, Obama's father was Muslim and therefore, according to Islamic law, so is he. "His middle name is Hussein, how can he be Christian?" typifies the sentiment.
Okay, so you'd think that Obama presenting himself as being a Christian would qualify him for the death penalty. BUT... there's a little catch. There's this Islamic concept of Taqiyya, which refers to a dispensation allowing Muslims to conceal their faith when under persecution, or to further Islam. I believe this is the loophole that Muslims convinced of Obama's Islamic faith would use. That he's simply lying about his Christian faith, and is truly a Muslim practicing taqiyya to futher the aims of Islam.
Do I think he's Muslim? No, neither do I think he is Christian. He used his membership in Rev. Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ to garner sympathy and votes among his constituency, and promptly threw them under the bus when it was politically expedient to do so in order to appeal to a wider audience. His statement during a San Francisco fund-raiser that people in small-town America cling to "guns and religion" reveals his true belief system. I can't see him as anything but atheist or agnostic in his heart of hearts.
Maybe we'll find out what the truth is eventually, maybe we won't. What is quite apparent at this point, in any case, is that he's a typical butthole uber-liberal cry-baby bed-wetting politician. Doncha think?
