Anyone here that has known my hunting habit's knows that I have a history of winter hunt's and night hunt's, I love them both. I've given the squirrel's a break for a few since I've been on the trail of a new garbage raider, not my garbage can but a neighbor down the road. The word got around that I do pest control day or night hehehe do to the fact that I've already dispatched several critter's around here for friend's and myself. I took some time the other day to go over to this Gentleman's home to introduce myself, show him what I use to remove the pest and get a layout of the place. He explained to me that for the last four nights something was getting into his garbage and leaving him with a mess to cleanup in the morning. I had several idea's and told him he has a raccoon, possum or even a skunk which would be a touchy hunt for sure. I further informed him that it would be a night hunt to be successful, he agreed and I told him that I would be there this evening just before dusk. I arrived at his place at 8:30pm , we talked a spell and at 9:00 I told him "it's time for me to go to work" :) I wished him a good night and headed out. I had located a spot for myself to lay low earlier that day which would be out in his stand of wood's about twenty yard's from the house where the Garbage can's were located. So with the CFX.22 loaded with a Predator I settled in against a tree in the dark just listening to the night sound's and watching the can's in the distance lit up under the yardlight. The normal sound's of night where comforting, tree's relaxing and even a owl somewhere in the dark looking for a meal himself. I looked down to check the time with a penlight, almost 11:00pm and when looking back up out of the shadow's he appeared. Without a sound I lifted myself up onto a knee , relaxed into the shooter and tracked him with the crosshair's. He arrived at the can and began to sniff around then worked his way up onto some cement block's stacked up there to get to the top of the can, smart fella. I let him reach the top block which gave me a nice sideprofile, it's time so I lit the lamp's with the red dot laser and crosshair's locked onto his fusebox and let loose the Predator. The "POP" of a real solid hit broke the silence of the night and I watched as he fell off the block's and began roll about on the ground. I got to my feet and headed for him, reloading on the way cause you never know about these guy's, they can be testy at time's. No need for another shot though for after a minute of rolling he slumped to his side but he still got a poke with a stick cause I don't go for that playing possum trick lol. I grabbed him and tossed him on some wood for a pic with my baby and then loaded all up for the trip home, yes he will be on a dinner plate. I will be contacting the homeowner in the morning to let him know the job was a success, job lol I love doing it but where there's one there's more. Pest control like this lead's to more hunting ground, take care of them and they'll take care of you.:) So that's what I did tonight, not much ;) what's the GTA fam upto tonight.:) Ed
