I just read Charlie's post.

I haven't been around as much, been busy carving gun stocks.  Am working on one for TCups right now.

I have been around a few forums, Yellow, SS etc.  I started hanging out here because there was a feeling of friendship and acceptance that was not on the other forums.  It did not matter

what you shot or where you were from.  If you liked a type of gun or not, that was your choice and it was ok.  Very little snobbery or ill feelings.

I am sorry to hear that some of that has risen it's ugly head here.

I hope that it will be curtailed.

Personal attacks just ruin the whole atmosphere.  Differences of opinion, discussed in an adult manner are interesting.  Name calling, etc is not.

Just my observation, for what it is worth.

Tim, I'm the one who fired the shot.  It probably wasn't the smartest thing I've ever done.  Point taken, it's behind us all now.  Thanks for being a part of the GTA forum.  It's a GREAT place to be.  Politics aside.

Matt, that is noble of you; however, a lot of us allowed ourselves to be taunted by a troll (for lack of a better word) and a whole host of emotional shots were fired. I think that some of us have learned a valuable lesson. I for one love a good fight but as far as this forum goes I will try to practice more patients and control.Life istoo short!

 I suppose we coulda been little girls and cried for daddy, but that's not what guys do.

 But ya can't really expect guys to be all sweet and pacifistic when insulted repeatedly. the jerk got what he had comin'.

It's easy to get caught up in the heat of the moment, and we all do from time to time,....including myself!!! But lately, it's not just on the GTA, it's everywhere!!!! Seems like alot of people have been on edge lately,...even the ones I work with. I don't know,...maybe it's sun-spots and moon phases or some crazy scientific phenomenah. Then again the media doesn't help one's anxiety levels  with all the half-truths they spread over the air-waves. Ooops, sorry,.... that last one slipped out!!!! Note to self: Think Positive tjk !!!

Myreason for practicing more patients and control is primarily out of respect for Gene, Bob and a few others . Gene and Bob run the show and we must play by their rules, like it or not.

I do like it.  I admire Gene and Bob and have no problem at all toning it down in the name of good taste.  I knew that I was over-stepping my boundaries when I'd written that piece.

Yep, the GTA Government interfered, and prevented we the people from crucifying that jerk.

 This was the spark that began the bloody years of revolution to follow.

 Were they wise, they would set up an arena, where the people would be entertained by gladiators, and therefore more easily controlled. Their bloodlust sated.

Just read the posts, above.  Is this thread any indication of what Charlie's talking about?  Don't know what went on in the Back Room.  I generally stay out of there as most forums' back rooms have something to tick off just about everyone if you hang out there long enough.  Anyway, this is the Airgun Gate, not the Back Room.  I was looking to see any interesting posts about airguns today.  This seems to be leftover smoke from the weekend's fires.

BTW, with the economy in an uproar,you can bet that people's anxieties are going to spill over onto forums like this one.  So there is a need to kind of settle down and enjoy this place as a welcome break from the six o'clock news.  Time to get back to springs and things, less politics and more PCP.  (Of course, to some folks, that IS political.)

 Sure doesn't seem like anything that would offend any reasonable person, but, if it does, I suppose they can run off and tattle or whatever they want to do. We ain't hurtin' anyone.
