GTA FORUM..........

I haven't made any posts on this thread prior to today,,,, didn't feel the need to as the issue was being effectively handled by the forum owners, but I just wanted to make one short post and that will be that from me.  We all know that the GTA is truly a great forum.  I, like many  of you, wake up each day and usually the first thing I do is log on to GTA to see how my GTA family is doing and keep up to date on the "happenings".   We have a wonderful bunch of people here and GTA has become the place that it is as a result of the input of all our members.  I agree that it's natural for the forum, as it grows, to go through phases and experience problems from time to time.  We all know this is a natural part of "growing up" and we all know that these problems will need to be addressed as they crop up.  I also know that we the members, as a group, are fully capable of handling these growing pains through cooperation and with Gene and Bobs leadership as the forum owners.  

I for one would hate to see things such as "suspensions", whether permanent or temporary, instituted in GTA.  I feel having to resort to such methods would not be in the best long term interest of the forum, but at the same time I fully realize that such methods might become necessary if our problems cannot be solved by other means. Ultimately that decision will be up to the forum owners and as a GTA member and moderator I will support the actions of the Bob an Gene.    All I'm saying is that we all know that issues like this have the potential to "get out of hand" and become a larger problem than what they should be.  Lets not let this happen.  We all know what the rules are, they are posted and they are simple.  The GTA has been running smoothly for quite some time now without any major problems under the same rules and policies that are in effect now and the result has been a wonderful place for us to hang out and enjoy.  Lets not let this issue, or any other issue that may arise, take on a life of its own and start to degrade what we have.  

I will end by saying that none of my comments are directed at any particular GTA member,,, my remarks are just my opinion on an issue that we as a group are facing.  I am usually not one to voluntarily get involved in controversy. I will get involved if required but generally as a rule I try to avoid becoming involved on a voluntary basis, however the GTA means as much to me as it does to all of you, enough for me to make a post I normally wouldn't make.  I hope no one takes my comments the wrong way for as I stated I am just giving my opinion.

Joe Joe, your input is great and well structured. As we get more new members there will be those who will show disrespect and break the rules. I think your suggestion is a fair and legitimate one. Now I just need to fingered out how to work the code to initiate it.. Bob and me had a long discussion this morning about how you feel along with most other members. It is hard to please everyone but we will attempt to abide by the majority and the GTA as a Whole.

If you were not a true member of the GTA you would not be posting what you do Joe Joe. It tells me you are a man of great char actor..

i agree with ya 100%.........the forum has really taken a downhill change since the early summer but BIG GENO is back and i am sure he will fix things back to way it use to be!!!..

Too much drama in the "Back Room".

I avoid it like the plague.

I mostly read Airgun gate, Hunting gate, and Bargain gate.

I don't know how I missed this post but I agree with you Joe 100%. Humility is a good thing and if hurts someones sensibilties so be it. Like they say if you are going to do the crime be prepared to do the time and if the time is publicly annoncing your suspended then I think that is better than being publicly band.

Just hyperbole, Gene.  The whole forum --  I often think I would be happier whenever I hit the "New Threads" button if the Back Room never appeared.

Well Tommy, Bob and I have discussed removing the Back Room. The Back Room was not intended to be abused when we first made it available. There have been many great posts in the back room in the past and still are but unfortunatly somefolks seem to think they can start warsand dump theredirty laundryin there... Abuse the rules as well. But if it comes down to it Tommy we will remove the back room. After all the GTA's primary function is Air Guns and Rifles along with all things associated with them and not a place to dump trash in. Gene, before eliminating the Back Room why not give it a probationary period.  I think a lot of us have finally learned lessons that in some cases were hard to recognize.  After all, the majority of us are adults  and we should be treated as such. I for one have made a promise to myself to follow those rules.  Let us prove to you, Bob and the rest of the members that we can conduct ourselves in a mature and respectable manner.  If not,  do with it as you see fit.

I log on here almost every night. I read all the gates except the pcp and crosman gate.[ I check that sometimes]. I miss learning from some of the people that were regular posters when I first found this great place to be.I am  a VERY oppinionated person. I dont like to argue, but I will state my mind if asked. I have avoided MANY posts  that I didnt agree with just because I feel that our friendships here are important, and i dont want to chanch losing that over anything that isnt that important.[ to me].We all have our oppinions, and as hard as it may be, [it is too!], I keep mine to myself. To me, this is an AIRGUN forum, not for religion, politics, or anything else.Just airguns.I dont mind that people discuss those things, I just choose not to.Thats what the back room is for, to discuss anything. I do enjoy the back  room gate , but I dont let the posts iterfere with my oppinions of any of you. I can truly say that I dont have any bad thoughts or feeling towards anyone here.Hey, if you knew some of my oppinions on some things, you probably wouldnt even read my posts!! I have no reason not to respect everyone here. I have never been offended by any posts towards anything I have posted. So I am excited about getting a Falcon Hunter, SO WHAT!? Many people have one! But people here dont say that. You are encouraging and maybe even a little excited for me too. THAT IS COOL!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING MY EXCITEMENT!! This IS a GREAT PLACE TO BE.
