Have almost a tin of Exacts through her now. My groups were a bit rough at the start but with practice I closed them in within 1" after almost a whole tin of pellets.. Today I finally put her up on the chrony. She has been shooting from the beginnning very hard. A bit harder than I liked. But after a 12 shot test through the chrony this is what I come up with. Actually I am a bit disapointed in the fact that the nubers are so high. I would of been pleased as punch if they had read in the mid to high 800 FPS. She shoots very smoothly with quite a loud report but she is steady to aim and squeeze off every shot. I am very pleased with the accuracy, non hold sensitivity and ballance. I was shooting from a bipod and not my normal bench rest. I know she is capable of doing 9 out of 10 ragged holes..:) Just need to get rid of some of my rust..:) Here are the stats:

Oh! I did want to mention that I may possibly remove my mod from the spring guide and piston and go with CDT's mod. I was not trying to increase the FPS but smooth the action out as much as I could.

Below you will see my interpretation of a well made air rifle..:) QUOTE]

I missed this post earlier for some reason. I now see your post was dated the day we left for vacation, that explains missing it.  I really like what you did with her Gene. I am glad the rifle worked out for you.

hey gene, do you think it shoots as smooth as a turbo tuned 34?  if say, someone wanted the mods you did, would you do em for em?

also, isn't 800 fps a little slow for that gun??  what numbers are you gettin now?

Well Dave, yes it does shoot great after I tuned it. Used a Maccari spring and seal. I like them to shoot in the 800 fps range David but with what I did on the tune gave me a much higher velocity. Remember this is one of my air rifles. I was tuning this RWS to shoot accurate and smooth. Accurate and smooth it is but I had to use a heavier pellet to get my groups within an inch at 40 yards. Beaman Kodiaks 10.60gr. That slowed her down some. But also the barrel has not been seasoned yet either. Since I refinished the stock I have bought a new stock with butt pad which looks very nice as well. When I tune air rifles I tune them as though they were my own. You will notice that the forstock extends further on the new Meister Stock. Gene

hey tim, how would you describe the plastic stock?

i've been thinking about getting a panther for a while, but not sure if i want another synthetic stock...some of em really sound like toys...can't stand that...but a nice synthetic stock, i absolutely love.

Dave, I left her alone. She will make one heck of a hunting gun. Now she is very well balanced with less weight not to mention the fpe she puts out..:) For now I am keeping her but not sure if I would ever sell her either. Those German guns are well made.

Timmy, you come on up here and I will show you who has the better shooter..:) hehe. Yes I have to admit that your Panther took to the tune and mods like a fish to water. She is a great accurate shooter Timmy. But you better keep her hidden and locked up or somebody might take her home with them..:)
