Ok I love this gun
« on: October 25, 2008, 04:30:03 AM »
I have to admit I just may have been converted.. I'm still getting shots from her even tho the gauge says its right on the line of green ta yellow..  It was a little in the green when Gene shipped it to me and i have shot at least 25 rounds now. I couldn't help myself and had to shoot a squirrel.  The impact point was right behind the shoulder and the pellet was a bump in the skin on the other side.. I took the shot at 20 yards with a low cylinder..  How low will it go before it just wont shoot anymore.. temps here are mid 60's to 70 degree's.  the WHisper is sitting beside her on the back porch and I keep grabbin the s410c..  I know I am fixin to run out of shots but it keeps on tickin...  I talked to the local scuba shop here and they have no prob fillin me up and they have tanks for 100.00  80 cf..  i guess its off to find the filler gauge and the hose with the quick connect....

My refill clamp came with a gauge. Local paintball shops may be able to help you with the hose.

Yep, those AA 410s are great....no matter in .22 or .177.  I just put 80 shots through her this morning...mine`s a .22.....had to pump her up after 40 shots though.  Started at 200 BAR and down to 100 BAR....I could`ve taken another 2 or 3 shots before I had to refill her.  Out of 80 shots....I took out 68  1/4" dots at 9 meters....modified bench rest shooting.

Hey Stanley, did you do any mods to your Storm XT?

Just curious, I bought one and fired it off without moding it and ended up with a bent main spring and a cooked piston seal since it detonated a few too many times on the excess oil that was in the compression chamber.  Since then, Crosman sent me replacement parts (seal and main spring) for free.  I fixed it, tuned it and put on a GRT III trigger and now it shoots smoothly at 935fps with CPH's consistently and quietly.  I have not yet checked it for accuracy, been on the road a lot.  As I said, just curious.

RANDALL, don't take her down to far past the yellow. I have herd that sometime when they get to low on pressure it is hard to refill them. I never went into the yellow so I really never had a problem but someone with more knowledge may give you more details. Did you get your fill nipple yet? I use a one foot long air refill hose. Reason being that you will lose allot of air after you fill up the PCP, then youhave to shut off main tank then bleed the line before you can disconnect hose. The bigger and fatter the hose the more air that is wasted. So that means less fill per tank. I use the high pressure spaghetti air hose. It is expensive but make a big difference in wasted air. Gene

If you shoot it too far down into the yellow , the valve spring pressure will be greater than the airtube pressure and it will dump the remaining air in the airtube. If this happens , pull the bolt and cock rifle before trying to fill . I'll most likely have to be filled with a HPA tank if complete empty . Pumps don't develop enough volume and pressure to overcome the valve spring. When you get tired of her , let me know, If I have the cash ; I'll take her off your hands. LOL They are my favorites and I wouldn't mind having a multi-shot . I may have to check on one, if I don't build my storage building. kirby

Hi Scott, nope, no tuning on the Storm XT......in fact none of the air rifles you see below have been tuned. All are stock except maybe for a different mount or scope that came with them.

The Airgun Gods must be looking out for me....the only air rifle that's giving me problems with accuracy is the Sierra Pro, other than that the rest shoots decent or very decent....if there's a miss it's very likely my fault.

Most of the springers I own most likely will shoot alot better with a GRT trigger though. As for the Storm, it detonated twice (Sounded like a rimfire .22 going off!!!) when I shot her the first few times....after that everything was/is ok. There's occasionally a film of oil on the breech when I let the Storm sit over 2 weeks (barrel up)....but it haven't detonated.

Sorry to original member.....we've hijacked your thread for abit.
