Thanks Dan.  I 'd be happy if I just saw a tree rat.  Unfortunately I have taken most of them or all.  The neighbors are wondering what happened to their beloved squirrels that they were used to enjoy watching so much :)

It will be a while I think before I shoot anything in the backyard with this gun.  It's just too loud.  It needs a shroud and that will take some time to get.  I don't even want to go to the woods with it like this.  It will scare critters for at least 1/2 mile around :)  I don't know, I think I 'm spoiled by the shrouded .22 Condor, but trust me, 90fpe is very LOUD.  My ears are still recovering from shooting it indoors once without ear protection.

The shroud that is on my Talon is amazing. It is a talon tune shroud. Did they do the shroud that is on your other Condor?

PS I like the tri-rail on top much better. Just a personal opinion. Looks cool.

Hey Dan, no mine is an Airhog shroud.  It's very close to the TalonTunes shroud, but the guy that sold me the .22 said he had both and the TT (your) shroud was just a small notch better.  Most likely I 'll be getting a TT shroud too.  You can't get the Airhog one unless you buy the gun from Airhog.  No doubt the TT shrouds are the best around.  You get what you pay for.. but considering that mine is a power modded Condor with 75+fpe, the Airhog shroud is working amazingly well.  At 1,000fps and below, the gun is just as quiet as it can be.  At 900fps and below you think the gun is broken and has no power.  It's whisper quiet.  I don't think it can get any more quiet.  But even at 1,100fps it's only a couple of decibels higher, not a big difference but noticeable.

How long is your TT shroud?  Do you have a 24" barrel on your Talon?  The Airhog shroud on the .22 Condor extends 12.5" beyond the frame.  I 'm thinking I may need 13"+ for this beast, but I don't want the gun to be too long either. I 'll be talking to Tony soon.  We 've exchanged a couple of e-mails.  He 's backed up with work as usual for 10-12wks.  3mos is a long time to wait but I 'll have to do it.

Harry:
I have this mental picture of you squirrel hunting, whipping that custom Condor out of a slide trombone case, and with your best Jimmy Cagney impersonation saying something like "You dhirtty rhatzzzz" before opening fire.  That is one unique, fine looking air rifle, sir.

Hey Harry, I have the 18" barrel in my Talon right now. The barrel extends roughly six inches outside the frame. The shroud is slightly over 14.5 inches long. I am amazed how light the thing is. Just doesn't seem like there is much to them.

I also have the 12" with the SS cap, and the guy I bought it from gave me a homemade shroud for the 12" barrel.

Thanks guys.

Kiwi:  Star Wars shooter? Ok now that's different.. hehe

William:  Here 's another close up pic of the "butt stock" but I can take more if you want.

Now the cool thing about this is that the entire piece at the end in the back and under the tank swings around the tank so you can adjust it, in case the tank does not screw on straight or over time it gets tighter and changes position.  It's really cool.  I also think he carefully weighted the shoulder stock and the wood around the bottle to balance the gun better.  It feels very well balanced and when I hold it on my open palm from the bottom (1 hand) in the middle right under the forend piece (behind the front grip) it balances perfectly on my hand.  He added I think about 3/4lb to the back with the wood to achieve better balance.  It's just feels a lot more balanced than my .22 Condor in the shooting position off hand.  I 'm still not sure how he wrapped an oak shell around the tank but then again I don't much about wood work.  It must have taken a lot of glue I would imagine.  This stock is kind of permanent on the tank but I think these tanks last 15yrs or more.  They 're very well made tanks.  The valve can easily be replaced at any time.

Just too nice for words. The wood covering the tank is really unique and beautiful. Makes me think about something like that for my Talon SS.

I have a better idea of how he did it now that your telling me that the stock is sort of permently attached to the tank. The wood work is awesome, and congrate on the new weapon.
