The plan was...........
« on: November 28, 2008, 10:49:54 AM »
to go hunting with the sweeeeeet 94 from my outstanding buddy Gene but lately I've been really trying to get several shooter's up to par for hunting. The 1250.22 had been down for awhile with a tune and after getting her all back together yesterday one thing was missing?. The pin the holds the barrel block onto the action came up missing. :o  :0 I always keep my smaller parts in pellet tins, they work perfect for holding em but my cat has been at work in my gun room so it's somewhere in there. I had to get her back together so to make a long story short I have a friend who is a machinist in a Detroit plant and I zipped down there and between the two of us whipped out a couple titanium pins. :o  :) Flew back home and installed it, fit's perfect so went to work on mounting the BSA 3-12x44 and sighted it in, again perfect. :) the 94 will be the first one for a hunt, pic of both gal's ready to tear em up. be careful with titanium pins

In a high stress application like that pivot pin, the titanium can gall up the steel and damage the gun. I'd look a bit more for the hardened steel pivot bolt and replace the titanium part.

OK...silly man.

I meant what was the pellet velocity or speed coming outta the barrel?

But I think you already knew the original question.

Oh the 94 will be a iron sight shooter. I had a scope setup and mounted but pulled it off last night and sighted her in with the iron sight's at 25yrd's. She was killing a Predator pellet tin lid stuck to a stick at 25yrds hehehehe and I'm no stranger to iron sights so I'm confident that we will bring home dinner.:) Ed

Right on Ed...Gotta love those BSA 3-12x44AOs. They are my favorite scope. Cheap, clear optics, and airgun rated. I Like the titanium screw idea too.

I put my parts in pellet tins too. Last time I lost a part, me and the wife turned the house upside down, and it ended up being in one of the pellet tins underneath a similar part...one of those real thin shoulder washers used on the outside of the pivot pin. That one really drove me batty. And we have no kids or kitties to deal with...so I figured I was safe. Can't even trust my own eyes.
