Paintball fill systems for PCPs
« on: December 10, 2008, 02:54:29 PM »
I have 4500psi carbon tanks I use for paintball and a 80cf scuba tank I use to fill them to 3k psi
The K valve fill system looks similar to the fill adapter for the Airforce Talon and Condor. Is It?

I'm shopping for one ane would like to know if I allready have some of the equip needed.

I believe I have setteled on the Talon SS in .22 due to the less noise over the condor but am open for swaying comments.

Main style for this will be for target for Me as My son is getting his first rifle (big cat 1200) for X mas. Both might be used for light woods hunting  also.

As My first post here after lurking and reading a few weeks, I want to say thank you for hrs of research!

Welcome Jonathan,, nice to have you with us on GTA.....

The fill adaptor for the Air Force rifles does indeed use a K valve setup.

The SS is a nice shooter, powerful, accurate and very  quiet.

The Condor is also a fine shooter, however the emphasis with the Condor is power.   If you need such power, or just want it, then the Condor is a good choice.  For light woods/small game hunting the SS will work very well.  Plus you'll enjoy the added benefit of being able to shoot it in residential areas, provided it's safe to do so of course, as opposed to a Condor which is not so "neighborhood friendly".

I currently have a .22 cal 18 inch barrel Talon (not the SS).  I love the rifle and use it for small game hunting.  It has plenty of power and is extremely accurate, however it is much louder than the SS, loud to the point where I cannot shoot it in my backyard like I do with all my springer rifles.

One thing to remember,,,,, you have a lot of options with the Air Force shooting system.  Later on down the road if you want you can add a 24 inch barrel to that SS.  A 12 inch barrel SS at max power will give you around 23 FPE, depending on the pellet.  Add a 24 inch barrel to that SS and you can raise that FPE to the mid 40's.  Of course the noise level will increase as well.

Whatever you choose I'm sure you and your son will have many hours of enjoyment of enjoyment with your new rifles.  And remember,,, make sure to post your hunting stories and pics in the "Hunting Gate" for the rest of us to enjoy  :)

Again, nice to have you with us......

Jeff

Welcome to GTA . I hope you stay around any share your experiences in this hobby . The K valve should work but you will need to adapt to the BSP. that A.F. uses . I will give you a couple links to look at . Air hog set me up with a adapter to go from my foster quick connect to the A.F . filler . If it is quite you are after then probable the S.S would be your better choice .Although I have heard that the shrouded Condors are fairly quiet but I have not been around one . Noise is not a issue were I shoot . Marvin

Thankyou for the responses
Both links I have gone over and know well.  Seems Pyramid is probably going to get My buisness as they carry all of the accessories with matched pricing from anyone else I could find.

 Again thanks for the responses
