I didn't respond to your post, Mike, because you were talking regulated rifles and .22. Power adjustment on the Cyclone and other FX rifles is a 3 position lever on the left side of the rifle, on mine shooting CPH's, I get about 10, 16, and 21 fpe. Medium power is by far the most consistent setting with this rifle, it averages about 830 fps with an extreme spread of 15 fps. A 30 shot string has a virtually flat curve, and with a 2900 psi fill I end up with 2400. I can and have done 80 shots on a single fill with no POI drop, at least at 10 yards :-). Add in an outstanding trigger, 8 shot repeater, and it's a pretty tough gun to beat.
As far as I'm concerned, the synthetic stock is an advantage on this rifle. It's lighter than wood, not affected by weather, and holds and points well. Of course, my intended use is as a field rifle. No, it's not as "pretty" as a nice beech or walnut stock, but it's a lot more utilitarian, which I like. Besides, I think it just looks cool :-). I love my Cyclone, but they're not cheap, the synthetic currently retails for $1300, add another $150 for walnut, IIRC. Extra mags are $25 ea., cheap compared to others and pretty foolproof. I have 5, gives me 40 shots on high and then it's time to refill. And there I went and just reviewed this thing AGAIN ;-)! Yes, any scope will work on a PCP, no recoil until you get into the big bores, and those are no different than a regular powder burning rifle. Any other questions you know how to reach me. Later.
