Why do wives think you only need one gun when they have 20 or more purses, or shoes?

I'm pretty sure it's one of the Universal Mysteries.  And it isn't just guns.  Near as I can tell, women seem quite convinced that men should only be allowed one of anything that they enjoy, at most.  This includes tool, cars, anything that gets lumped (by women) under the general category of "Toys".  Unfortunatley, it just doesn't pay to ask why this is, at least it isn't a good idea to ask a woman, but I'm pretty sure it's genetic.  I'm also convinced that Murphy (as in Law) is/was a woman.  After all, have you ever known a guy that was that contrary just for the sake of being contrary?

BTW, please don't let any women see this, my Karma is bad enough these days...

If anything, I usually feel funnier about buying another airgun than she does...

Something about being in my middle 40's, and I'm not looking to buy a 'vette and run off with some young blonde, and so buying a few air rifles really isn't such a big deal after all....

This is also part of my wife's viewpoint

I don't drink or smoke or run around -- got that out of me many years ago -- and I don't have anything other than the guns to spend money on now [except for the kids].

Another plus is that the guns and equipment have some intrinsic value and can be resold or traded, unlike computer stuff, which rapidly approaches zero on the resale value chart. That used to drive her crazy about computers.

It's a nice hobby, and I look forward to many years of fun with it... when my @#$%^&*%%$#@ gun comes

Then I'll be looking for another.

I see four other guns [maybe 5:o ] that I would like to have, and I look forward to aquiring them.

Ed, our wives look at our guns as we look at there purses and shoes.... Why so many! Talking about wives. I think more ladies should join our forum. That way they could spread the word to other ladies that we are still just kids..... he he he

Yes the sky is blue and water is wet but some things remain a mystery. When I started collecting air rifles she informed me that I have a wall full hunting rifles, but honey these are air rifles. Wifes reply, YOU PAYED MONEY FOR A TOY GUN.! No dear it's a adult air rifle and I tried to explain the difference. She looked at me as if I was speaking in ancient dia-lect. I gave up and went back to my cave , and did some cave drawings. :0
