I purchased the smooth RWS from Arizona air guns and installed in 5 minutes on my RWS 34 panther.  Remove the front and rear sight, slide on the brake and tighten 2 grub screws.

Mike, that leads me to think that the RWS smooth design muzzle brake I got is the wrong part number as there is no way it would slide into barrel. The muzzle brake I got is very tight and was able to tap it in for only 5mm or 6mm. Now I am not able to remove it.

This is terrible as now I cannot even use the rifle.

It slid on nicely. Did you loosen the grub screws first?

Hi, Mike. Yes, the first thing I did was to remove the grub screws.

Well, I don't know what else to say. Mine slid right on very easy.  The brake was tight enough to prevent it from being cocked while putting it on but not to tight to prevent it from going on.  I took no tools to it except the hex wrench to tighten the grub screws.

Thank you all!

On my way to LAX to pick up my wife, I decided to drop by Air-Venture Airguns in the city of Bellflower here in Southern California. I spoke to Bob and told him about the problem with the RWS Muzzle Brake. After tinkering with it, he said he will need to use a blow torch to remove it from the barrel. Since it was time to pick up my wife, I told him I will have to come back for the rifle and asked him to install the Beeman Universal Muzzle Brake which he has in stock.

After coming back from LAX, I see my Panther with the Beeman Muzzle Brake on his gun rack. He told me that there is no way the RWS Muzzle Brake would fit my Panther unless he had to re-bore it.

His total charge was $12.95 for removal of the RWS Muzzle Brake and $28.95 for the Beeman Universal Brake including installation. His prices on items in his store are very reasonable and without the shipping costs, comes out cheaper than ordering from the Internet.

For those Southern Californians who want to check out his store or need Bob's service, here is the information:

AIR-VENTURE AIRGUNS
9752 FLOWER STREET
BELLFLOWER, CA 90706

PHONE: 562-867-6355

This truly is the best forum on Air Guns barring none! I saw a lot of experts chime in with their ideas and words of encouragement especially when it became obvious how frantic and desperate I was becoming from my emails.

You guys are the greatest!!!

 :D
Best regards,
James

Thanks, Mike. Being unemployed, the worst thing I could do is spend money on an air rifle and then mess it up.

I am so relieved that it came to this happy ending.

Regards.
