Savage air rifle?
« on: January 06, 2009, 10:26:50 AM »
I was on Pyramyd Air's site the other day and saw that Savage Arms is selling a air rifle in .177, I was wondering if anyone has got one or has got to see one up close? And I'm wondering if Savage actually makes the gun or if someone else makes it and its being sold under Savages name like the Ruger air hawk is sold under their name but is made by some other company? If Savage actually makes the gun and would start making it in .22 and put their accu trigger in it, it would be a heck of a little gun, I have 3 Savage rifles 1 rimfire and 2 centerfires and they are all tack drivers, Savage has always maked some very accurate guns, I wrote the company earlier today and will let you all know what they let me know, but I thought one of you guys might have the low down on it.

Made in China and branded Savage, just like the Ruger air rifles. From what I've seen I think it's a version of a Chinese Beeman with a few extra bells and whistles.

Thanks guys, I was afraid of that, if its made by Bam it might be a decent gun, but I would rather see it actually made by Savage. I hate seeing firearm manufactures  having their name put on other people products, I know that they could make the guns themselves, I guess they're doing it to keep production cost down but I don't think that they should do it that way, it seems misleading to me, people buy the guns thinking that they are getting a gun made by Savage, Ruger and they end up just paying for a name.

Looks like it  has the same tube and trigger as the TF89/AR 1000.
