How good do y'all think the Gamo Match and Hunter pellets are? Of the two, which does everyone find to be more accurate???

I used Gamo Match pellets in my .177 Hunter 440 before switching to Crosman Premier (10.5gr) which in my opinion more accurate. But I was really impressed with accuracy and power of Hunter Pellets in my .22 caliber Hunter 440. Didn’t try Match pellets in .22 yet.

that as a general rule in the Gamo pellets, or for most pellets as far as that goes, that the domed type pellets like the Gamo hunter are the best all around pellet for general shooting, especially at 20 yrd. plus. They usually have better flight characteristics than other type pellets. Pointed pellets are usually pretty unstable further out and are good for the most part only for penetration.  Again though, when it comes to short and mid-range shooting, all gun seem to have their own favorite diet.

I keep the .177 match, and the .22 hunter pellets in my field box well stocked. My beeman .22 (GS1000) really likes the hunters, its about the only thing other than Hobbies it will shoot accuratly - and it does amazingly well with these out to about 45 yards. What I consider 'amazingly well' is consistant sub 1.5-2 inch groups, about the best this gun (and my 3 year old skill) can do with this medium-quality rifle.

The .177 match is about all I shoot in my B3's (2 of them, one stock, the other home tuned), shoot very wel out of those, but my TX hates them (I use CPL's , CPHP's in my TX).

I don't have a gun that likes the .22 gamo match - in every case I've tried, the lighter Hobbies out-performed the .22 gamo match. Just my experiencewithmy with particular guns of course :)

But what I don't understand is that Gamo claims better accuracy from Match pellets than from Hunters... but even at 10 yards virtually all my rifles group noticeably better with Hunters.

Gamo makes a lot of claims that aren't backed up by facts. I take everything they claim with a hefty dose of salt.

My Gamo Shadow sport likes the Gamo hunters and magnums. Like they say, each gun is different find what puts a smile on your face and makes your gun happy.

The Gamo Match is ok for sub 25 yards.
But my pellet of choise is the Pro Hunter, very accurate.

I have tried lots of other more expensive pellets, but still prefer them.
...even for long distance shooting

Went out an hour ago and there was this bunny sitting in the middle of 40 quail. I keep an old Mendoza in the garage (cost me $69 new) and added a Gamo Hunter and with one shot to the head at 20 yards I had a dead bunny. I use a Barska set at about 8 power (it is an AO) and it is a descent scope for $29 at Big Five on sale. I find that all my guns will shoot Gamo Hunters OK but RWS Super Domes are a bit more accurate. The Gamo Match are dogs in all my guns but then I do not shoot much paper at 10 meters even when it is cold outside. At 10 meters all match ammo seems to cut nice holes and are accurate. I would not hunt with them as my guns all like Predators as well as heavies. Hope this helps.
