Match Suggestiom
« on: February 02, 2009, 01:45:49 AM »
10 meters........ off hand ............ with the Gamo target that fits their trap. These are available most places... relatively inexpensive .... and because most of us are not Olympic candidates ( LOL); do present a nice challenge .5 shots per target ......... 4 targets, 20 shots , for a possible total of 200 points . Shot has to be totally inside the 10 ring to be an X , no line touching . If it touches the line, it's just a 10 . Pellet just has to touch line for greater value. This could be used in all shooting divisions and styles. , springer , co2 , pumper, PCP, etc. kirby

New guy to the forum but I'm always looking for online 'postal' matches. So, I definitely take part.
I also have a 'borrowed' Gamo target that I have cut away the outter edges of to fit 5 targets on a page. You really only get scoring from 5 (4 if you are creative) to 10/x but it works for me. I'll post it up if you are interested.

Welcome Jeff , this was just a suggestion for a match , but feel free to post your scores . I also have a suggestion for those who prefer to sit and shoot . Rifle or pistol is shot from a bench position , but has to be self supported , no rest , elbows on the bench . Target to be used is the 10 meter rifle target . here's a down loadable one . http://rimfireshooting.com/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=250 . Print out 4 copies , Use top left target as a sight in target , the other 5 as scoring targets , one shot per bull , 20 shots total , 200 point possible , 10 ring dot has to be completely removed with shot , to count as an X . pellet touch to count higher score . What do think ? just suggestions. kirby If you have some of the official AR-5/10 targets , just use 2 with the 2 middle targets for sight in .

The first is my rip of a standard Gamo target (5 sweet spots on one page) , the second is my rip of a standard 10m airgun target (20 complete per page plus a sight in).

Based on experience, for those who shoot iron/open/aperture sights, a target sheet with too many targets on it is difficult to shoot at, because of the distraction of the sight picture by the other targets.  At distance with ZERO magnification, the targets will look awfully close to each other.I used to shoot AP on a multi-bull target, but I now cut up my multi-bull targets to individual targets because of the visual distraction created by the other targets making it hard to get a good sight picture.

I like the targets and the way this is progressing.  I think since we are shooting paper, wadcutters are much easier to score and they leave a bigger hole.
I need to dryfire.lol
