I sent Gamo copies of my pictures showing the packaging and tins.  Also said this was not out of the ordinary per reports posted here.  Today I received this reply:

Dear Customer:

This is not a common occurrence. And we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience these damaged pellets have caused you. We’d be happy to replace the full tin if you can send us a copy of your receipt by email or fax.

We appreciate your understanding and will send the replacement tin as soon as the above for-mentioned is provided. Be assured this information has been forwarded to our QA department and this is not a normal production issue.

Thank you,

What was I looking for in this deal from Gamo??? Well I was looking for a cheap pellets to break in 3 Air Rifles. All my Air rifles have under 500 rounds throught them. I'm pretty grateful that the HW30 and HW50s shoot them well. Thats a plus to me. I quess it's how you look at it. Glass half full or half empty! I'm enjoying my cheap pellets with free shipping and it looks like Gamo will do the right thing by replacing the open tins.

Got mine today. 1/3 opened, the others loose. Pellets all over the place. Still, they don't seem to damaged to me. Haven't shot them yet. Regardless, its a super cheap deal, so no complaints here.

Got my single layer bubble envelope, today.  It was stamped with this (Received without contents at Auburn Post Office).  Had a rip about 4 in long.  The size of this envelope is 7 x 9.75 in, not very big for 5 tins of pellets   5 tins of pellets missing.  The pellet monster got them.  I hope gamo stands up and takes care of us.  Emailed Gamo about the problem.  Hope to here something soon.  So what's the count how many got their's and how many didn't get anything or damaged goods.  A really poor showing for GAMO.  If we didn't have this forum, most wouldn't know how large the problem is.

Got my five tins.  Good shape in a box, strange shredded packing but none were opened.  Haven't shot any yet.

Seems random on how they are shipped, I ordered 5 tins and it was sent in a bubble envelope versus your boxed 5 tins.  Well I'm a glutton for punishment and order some more as they seem to fit the breach of my guns a lot better than the Daisy 500 count 177 wadcutters.  Hopefully they will read my shipping comments about loose pellets and ship them appropriately.

FWIW:  I weighed about a dozen of them and they seem to average 8 grain.  And like others have noted they are dirty with lots of lead fragments in the tins.

Got my two packages today, one bubble wrap envelope with three tins, all were in great shape with no dents and sealed tight. The other envelope had 4 tins, and one tin had opened part way and spilled about 200 pellets. No big deal. Plenty of lead dust and fragments, so I'm going to screen and wash these to clean them up. Will let you know how they shoot.

Got my 6 tins yesterday. Came in an intactcardboard box with shredded cardboard strips for packing, and the tins were just loose in the packing. No tins taped together or wrapped in anything...just loose in there. No tins opened or partially opened. No damaged or dented tins. No loose pellets. Great deal, but I think I'm just lucky this time...extremely lucky. Dont know if I wanna order any more, even though it is a fantastic deal. Especially in todays world of high pellet prices.

I've recieved other pellets from a different supplier who shipped thru the post office and I wasn't so lucky. That timethey came in a padded envelope, and the pellet tins were loose inside of a plastic bag. Many tins were dented and kinda smashed, but no loose pellets. One tin was so smashed I could not screw the cover off and had to use pliers and a screwdriver to get it off, making the pellet tin completely unusable for storage. That made me upset, so I called the supplier and they replaced the damaged tin free of charge. I talk about this only as an example of how *not* to ship pellets. I was scratching my head and saying "what were they thinkin???"

I emailed gamo yesterday about the missing pellets, and got a email and phone call  today.  Both said I would receive my pellets in 3 to 14 days.  Good customer service.  I like the fact I got the phone call too,  it adds a little more Customer service when someone calls.

I got my three tins today. Came in a box that was marked "Made in Spain",but the return label said "Houston, MO". The box had some crushed corners, but not to bad. The tins weren't dented or crushed, but were dirty enough to look like they had been stored under a manure pile in the horse barn !! So far....so good.
Now, I bought 3 tins for $11.97, & the box was marked with postage of $7.22. So, I actually paid $4.75 for 1500 pellets !! If they shoot decently, then this was an outstanding deal. I just don't understand how they can sell them for this price, unless they're just trying to unload them. When the weather clears, we'll see how they handle.

Forgot to ask.......what's the best way to wash pellets ???  I didn't realize at first just how bad they were. The insides of the covers are pasted with shrapnel !!!

This is how I do it. I use a tea strainer to clean my allGamo pellets. Place hot water in a good size bowl with Dawn dish cleaning soap or any type of dish soap. The pellets are placed in the bowl and washed my hand. I wash them for about 2-5 minutes useing my hands and shaking the bowl, etc. I then strain they with the tea strainer and run hot water over them with the kitchen faucet. One thing I forgot was when puring the water/soap from the bowl, do it slowly and you will see the slivers at the bottom of the bowl. After I run the hot water over and throught the pellets, I place them on a towel and let the air dry. It may take a while for this because of the water in the pellets skirts. I wipe the tin clean with a paper towel and return the pellets to it. The pellets will turn darker after cleaning. The strainer I got from a yard sale and please don't use the one at your house because of the lead in the pellets.

I ordered some when this subject was first posted, and went back yesterday and ordered some more. I went to Pyramid Airs website and went through the motions of placing an order to compare prices for 4-tins. Even with their 4th tin free policy, it's cheaper ordereing from Gamo with no freight.
