New Gun For A Friend.
« on: February 16, 2009, 10:24:14 AM »
I will try to keep this short??:o A Friend of mine & a long time member here at GTA,,, Harry ("Only One Harry") had his Diana 350 stollen from him.:0 (LONG story) Myself & many others spent alot of time trying to recover Harrys gun,,,to no avail. I managed with help from others to get Harry a new gun. It has been a long road,,, I finally got one!!:D I will ship it to him as soon as I get done "testing" it LOL!!:p I want to give J Woodcock (3n00n)a BIG THANKS for all the work he did,, keeping me informed with all the phone calls to update me on all the differant results from MANY differant springs & various set ups untill he/we came up with what we both thought Harry would like.8) (He is a power monger Ya know!!) :p Harry,, to answer part of your question (Hunting Gate) it is a stock spring,, deburred, & J uses only Jim Maccari,s lubes. (J will have to tell Ya what all else he did) I finally was able to get to J,s house this weekend to pick up the gun,, & of course do some shootin with my Buddy J!!:D Heck,,, J even replaced a broken spring & tuned my Big Cat while I was there!!!!(That one,, along with another "present" will be headin to Ed "Shadow" soon!!) Im havin a hard time remembering all I want to say in this post,,,,, Mom is here visiting,,,,,gotta spend some time with her & the wife!!:o I HAVE to go start the grill now,, before Im in BIG trouble!!:o Tim.

For all the kind words!! Harry my Friend,,,,at this point it is a joint effort between J & myself. I did post on another forum what I was up to several weeks ago,,,,(I did not want you to know what I was up to & knew you were not a member there,,,,,,yet!!) ALOT of fine folks there offered to send donations to cover the costs!! :D  I have held off on accepting those donations,,,, it only makes sence to me to do so untill YOU post pics. of your new gun!! 8)  Once you get your new gun,,, I will try & figure out how to set up: A Harry,, "S-Crow" account!! :p  I will also add: (sorry,I have to) that,,,, in my quest to correct this wrong done to you,,,, My FRIEND "T-Cups,(Tommy) paid in full for a new 350 for my cause,,, it was going to be sent directly to you drop shipped from Long Island Airguns at dealer cost thanks to another DEAR FRIEND of mine Joe "Cuz". I cancelled the order :0  :o . (I was going to pay Tommy back) That was another behind the scenes "blunder" on my part in this long quest of mine,,,, only because I disrupted 2 of my Friends lives. I did NOT take my desision to cancell that order lightly,,,, as I had already arainged for a tune on that "new" gun,,, I knew you would be reluctant to send it off once you got it,,,,,,,, afterall,,,, thats how your first one was stollen.  No,,, I knew J had one that I had personally shot before,,, I knew it was nice,,, I knew J would turn it into what I knew you would like "Turn Key". :D  I think you are gonna like it!! (I do!!) :p  Sure wish I had a box to ship it in!!LOL!! :p  Your Huntin Buddy in SC,, Tim.     (Whackey Tim as Joe calls me!!) :p

You said it Cody, Jason, Jorge and others!  This has always been my favorite forum and consider it my "other home".  The people here are among the best!

I had it a felling it was Tommy that financed this effort!  hehe.  Thanks doc Tommy!!

Whacky Tim.. I kind of like the sound of that  :D   Tim:  Check your e-mail.  I got the original RWS box and outter box it was double-boxed in.  Send me your address and you 'll have them in a couple of days.  I can't find your address.  Please send it to me.

thanks!

WORD. Im sure Tommy is STEAMIN mad at me now,,,, sorry Buddy.  I will go check my E-Mail now. How do I get myself into these kind of messes for tryin to be nice?? :0  Like I always say,,,,, no matter how hard Ya try to do the right thing,,, your always gonna have someone mad at Ya?? :o  Joe knows,,,,,, we have talked about it at lenth,,,,, besides the obvious "adictive personality",,,, everyone just wants to be "Liked". Guess what,,,,, Im gonna sleep REAL good tonight,,,,,with Harrys new 350 leaned up right next to my bed!! :p  "Whackey Tim". 8)

Sorry Tim, I misunderstood!  Now I got it (I think).. Tim financed the first gun, which never arrived after you placed the order with Joe Cuz, because you cancelled that order with Joe, and Joe probably had to cancel the order with his distributor.. this is after you found out that J would tune & sell his 350, so Tommy might gave gotten a little ticked off, and probably needs to get his $ credited back to him, while you made the deal with J who agreed to help out..  (how is that for a runnout sentence?).  How am I doing so far?  hehehe  Just messing w/you buddy!  It's the thought that counts!!  You were just looking for the right gun for me, and you made the right decision!  Tommy and Joe understand.  There sure seem to have been several twists in your quest to find the right 350, that's for sure :)
Trying to do something nice for someone does not always work out perfectly.. Don't worry, you have not done any real damage, hehe.  It's the end result that matters!  I cannot believe you went through all that for me.  How am I going to repay you?  I think I have a few things in mind when you come up North   :o   8)

Not so sure about 'tuned' but . . .

. . . the 350 got a Tesla seal with ARH lubes {like a certain 34 with a GRT kit}, and the Gamo got a Merlin XL with ARH heavy tar on the guide.
The Gamo smoothed out well and shoots pretty nicely at 12fpe now.
`
Quite a few soda cans full of waterwere severelyinjured during chrony testing of the 350, and as Timmy said, 80 meters - over the chrony -with many different pellets.
`
16 grain JSB Exacts 5.52 {weighed} shoot about 795fps+/- 7fps {~22.5fpe}These terminateda lot of cans!
`
21.1grain Beman Kodiaks .22 {weighed} shoot about 690fps+/- 9fps {~22.3fpe}These terminateda few cans.
`
14.3 grain JSBExpress 5.52 {weighed} shoot about 835fps +/- 10fps {~22.2fpe} These terminated several cans.
`
14.3 grainCrosmanPremier .22 {weighed} shoot about 825fps +/- 15fps {~21.6fpe} These terminated a few cans.
`
12 grain Hobby .22 {weighed} shoot about 890fps+/- 10fps {~21.1fpe}
`
16.4 grain JSBPredators 5.52 {weighed} shoot about 760fps+/- 12fps {~21.0fpe}

Lemme know wha'cha think about it, but as for me {at 6'}- I still think the ol' side levers and38fit me a l'il better . . .
