Glad the GTA exists

I follow a lot of the air gun forums.  One thing I've noticed is that often, as in right now, I'm not able to get into Network 54 sites.  "Connecting to www.network54.com..." many times followed by "Connection Interrupted  The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.  The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again."  In case you haven't noticed, the Kitching's Airgun Forum ( AKA "Yellow") , American Vintage Airguns, the Diana Werke Collective and the Crosman Airgun Forum are all hosted by that server.  When Network54 is unavailable, they all are unavailable.

Does anyone here remember a web site called Shooter's Talk?  Just about the best rimfire section going, with sub-forums for many other types of guns, even scheutzens.  One day the server announced they were going out of business and Shooter's tried but could not find another host in time  to transfer.  You would not believe the accumulated years of communal knowledge  instantly and permanently  lost when the switch was flipped.  Stuff I would have archived in Word if I had only known.

While the GTA is not as large or as old as those other forums, it distinguishes itself by not putting all of the air gun knowledge into one basket.  For that reason, alone, I'm glad the GTA was founded and I'm a member.
