What a beautiful day to be out shooting a Field Target Match! Doing anything outside would have been nice today. Well If my only goal today was to beat my friend shooting in hunter class , well then I failed . Because he put a whupping on me as bad as I had him last month, when we were both shooting on a level playing field, shooting PCP's . I had it coming and was not surprised , Eddie's a good shot and I knew it wouldn't take him long to get the hang of shooting hunter class with the use of a bipod. Out of a possible 78 Eddie shot a 50 ; an improvement over his score of 39 last month I shot a 31 ; But I don't feel I failed. My first goal was to shoot at least 33% , I beat that , shooting right at 40% . After all , I was shooting a spring piston gun, off a bipod ; it's going to take a little while and a little more practice to get the hang of the different holds required for shooting up and downhill . Next month my goal will be to shoot 50% or better . Baby steps . I need to get use to the speed of this rifle too. I found out today , I can shoot 55 yards with the same holdover than I shot 50 yards before with my 12fpe PCP. That's a full 1" flatter trajectory . The rest of the guys shot PCP unlimited and the high score for them was shot by Doug Vinson , a 69 ; a very nice score , especially with the wind we had . A fun time ; I can't wait to get back out there next month . kirby
