Custom stocks for Disco
« on: March 26, 2009, 03:41:46 PM »

Ok I  figured out how to remove the Disco stock.

I am wondering if anyone has seen a thumb hole stock for these?
I have never tried to make a stock before but I guess it would at least be fun to try.

It should  test my patience and temper.

Steve Corkoran makes stocks for Disco. It's not thumbhole, but it sure is good looking. He makes quality stuff.

Hey Brent....

My first attempt was a wash.
I cut the basic form for the thumb hole stock.
I made a slightly higher cheek rest to accommodate
the difference the barrel riser made. The scope is a little higher
and I figured that would put me back to a comfortable
eye to scope fit.  The stock was cut to length,
the holes were all drilled and the action was fitting perfectly.
However, as I was cutting the grove for the barrel,
lets just say it didn't go well. I cut it to wide........

Good learning curve. I just don't have the needed tools.
Oh well, $250.00 is just to much to pay for a stock.
I could sell the disco, add some money and get a fully
custom B51. The disco will stay as is and I will enjoy it.

It was a good way to kill some hours on this rainy Saturday.
