Hey Mike, a couple of questions for you:

Does the Blackhawk come with a scope stop?
What is the quality of plastic like?  Is it nice like the Diana Panther, or cheap like the Daisy/Winchesters?
Also, are you going to offer these as tuned merchandise for sale? :)

Slavia CZ 634 .177, Crosman Quest 800 .22, and Baikal IZH 513 .22.

I'm not a fan of the synthetic stocks but the one I have has a nice looking stock, once the rifles get here in .22 I'll be doing my work on them, I will "tune" a .177 if you get one and then send it to me....they do have a stop for the scope

Mike, I never used to be a big fan of synthethic stocks either, but when we began using "plastic" guns about 15 or so years ago, I sort of changed my tune.  The wood stocks on the Remington 870's would get beat to crap and look 20 years old after only a year or so's use.  Changing them to plastic has helped keep them looking good and the stocks no longer crack.  When we changed from revolvers to semi-autos and adopted the .40 cal. Glocks, I've found they have held up far better then I ever imagined they would.  I keep a Colt M4 in the trunk of my car along with the rest of my SRT gear.  It gets banged around quite a bit, but it's held together a lot better then the wood stocked M1's we used back in the "old days."

Hey folks,
I spontaneously bought a winchester 800 from sportsmans guide. ( prob will arrive today) Do you all think I should send it back and order the blackhawk. Its is just for fun and a home tune project. And please dont tell me to keep the winchester AND order the blackhawk because i have thought of that allready. I have talked myself out of that...I think?

Hi Greg, welcome to the forum, nice to have you with us.....

As for the Winchester or Blackhawk dilemma....  Well, it all depends on what you really want to do....but here are some things to think about....

the winchester is a "refurb"........ the Blackhawk isn't .....

the Blackhawk, being a clone of the RWS 34, is going to have a MUCH better stock trigger than the Winchester for sure..

The winchester is an 800 FPS rifle while the Blackhawk is a 1000 FPS  rifles.  Both those FPS figures are "advertised" of course and are not "real world" but the Blackhawk is going to shoot faster and more power.

The Blackhawk comes with a scope (not the best of course but usable)... the winchester does not.....

Last thing,,,, the Blackhawk will be much easier to get spare parts for if you ever need them or want them, springs, seals, etc,,, since it's a 34 clone.

I"m not trying to push you either way, just throwing some things out there to think about to help you make your decision....

Hope this helps.....

Will be looking forward to your future posts on the forum.....and again.... WELCOME  :)

I think that is good advise. The winchester is going back.
   Thanks,

I'd buy the thing!  I've posted before that I bought three of the Ruger Airhawk's, and if the powerplant and barrel are the same, this is an AWESOME deal!  Good work!  Springer

Ross, I'm gonna have Gene turn this into the Panther Pro I so much wanted before I bought the Meisterschutze.  Hey, it may be on the cheap, but I figure when he's done with it, it outta be one sweet shooter.  I finally pulled the thing out of the box and put a scope on it...it still hasn't been shot.

Yep those Ruger's tune out great. I sold my Ruger to RedFeather a month or so back. It may have had a bit more punch than he likes but I did offer to take it back. I just hope he is shooting it enough to get everything seated and broken in good. Even the trigger is a clone of the RWS 34. Only real difference is the cocking linkage. If I ever bought another one I think I would de-tune is a bit. Do not need all that power around my place..:)

Gene/All, so there are some good deals on the Ruger which I can get out the door for $95 with a throwaway scope.  I already have a Gamo Big Cat in .177 that I tuned and now deem aceptable (prior to tune it was no fun and sat for 6 months with a dozen pellets down the tube).  I swapped for one of CDT's triggers, Maccari spring and Apex seal.  What a difference.

Anyway back to my question, is the Ruger any different than the Gamo Big Cat or are they basically the same experience with one being Synthetic and other Wood?  Or even though it seems like a deal save the $95 toward something different.  I don't have a .20 cal yet...hmm the madness never ends.

WAIT, so I noticed this thread is on the Blackhawk.  I was looking at the Air Hawk.  Is this the same gun only Black is syn and Air is wood?
