Best regulated rifle will depend on the person.  There is a new R-10 due out anytime that's regulated but not to your specs.  30fpe with at least 50 shots gets you into much pricier air guns.  Gene and I have a unregulated FX Cyclones.  With an extended tube I get 40 shots at 30fpe.  On medium 21fpe in get 60 shots and on low 15fpe I get 80fpe.  I really like the power options.  The new Daystate MVT Airwolf gets 170 shots at 30fpe.  Big price tag $2600.00.  That will be my next rifle.  Gene and Peakchick can tell you more than I can about regulated PCP's.  I think you need to lower your standard a wee bit less though.  Accuracy is what you want not necessarily power.     P

If you plan on shooting mostly targets, why do you need 30 fpe and .22 cal?  And why regulated?  Sounds like you're just adding cost, without netting any real benefit for your primary use.  I can assure you from personal experience that a 16 fpe .177 will easily take g'hog size game out to at least 30 yards, and will be much cheaper to shoot.  And for targets, the same gun will work quite nicely out to 50 yards or more.  Yes, a reg MIGHT give you a flatter shot curve or possibly more shots per fill, but they do wear out, and it's just one more thing to go wrong.  Spend some time with a chrony tweaking an unregulated gun and you can get close to, or even better, the performance of a regulated gun for a lot less money.  For your price range, there are a LOT of really nice guns out there, but by requiring a reg, you're ruling out a bunch.  Later.

I have a TX 200 MIII in .177 that I like to shoot 20,30,40 yard targets....Also have Air Force Condor in .177 that I like to shoot 40,50,60 yards out....I would like to have a .22 cal for
shooting out to 80 yards, needs to be at the high end of FPS and still have accuracy,so 28fpe or so and still hunt out to 65 or 70 yards,am I right in this asumption?///..I know with the
Condor the closer the FPS the more accurate it is,,,that my thinking with the regulator,I have spent many hours shooting over a chrony to arrive at this assumption...I can do without it
, thats just crazy money....Maybe another condor ?????

So get a .22 barrel for your Condor, those things are a waste of air in .177 anyway :-).  That will get you in the 50 fpe range while still staying accurate.  Specifically, a 21 gr. Kodiak in the 1000 fps range, something a Condor is quite capable of doing, especially with Kodiaks.  AND a hell of a lot cheaper than a new regulated gun!  And if you haven't done so already, take some of the money you'll save and buy a nice chronograph.

Now if you're just looking for an excuse to buy another rifle, well, why didn't ya just say so ;-)?  In that case, buy an FX Cyclone in .22.  For details, check out some of Pellet Paul's recent posts on his new Cyclone, among others.  Not much I can add to that.  Later.

Well I go along with what Paul and Dave have said. I look at air rifles as tools. Every tool has it's one use. The FX Cyclone you mentioned is a very fine air rifle. It is a universal tool for me. I can sit and shoot on low power at paper at 10 meters and get plenty of shots as Paul has mentioned. I can turn the power up mid way and still get quite a few shots shooting at 40 yards or so. And when I want to shoot cridders it only takes one shot to kill them on full power..:) Soif I miss several times I still will have several pellets left in the clip for more shots on full power...:) I will admit that I rarely take my FX out to shoot and most of my shooting is paper at around 30 yards and I have my BSA Ultra that delivers up to 40 shots on a fill. It is a carbine and does not take much effort to shoot. And as Dave said why spend the extra money on a regulated gun unless you are going to compete and you need consistency. Even with un regulated guns you can still get dang good accuracy. And there are alot more unregulate PCP's out there than regulated ones..:)

Shelby - Take your time,  research and research.  Besides the power, what kind of gun do you want.  Space age or classic looks. Walnut, breach or synthetic.  Light weight or heavy.  Carbine or full length.  Quiet or loud. Lever action or semi auto. Your capable of getting lots of different rifles in your price range.  And remember their is always after market upgrades.  Good luck in your hunt for the perfect rifle!
