I don't own a 46 and haven't personally shot one but I do have a 350 Magnum which is the same power plant and my 350 is one awesome small to medium sized game gun !!  As for the 46,,,, like I said I don't own one but I've read quite a few good review on it in the past.  If you look at the prices of new 46's they are up in the 400 and up range,,,, and this one you're looking at comes with a nice scope.    For that price I'd buy it.....

I have an RWS 350 Magnum in .22 cal. I cannot say enough good about the rifle. It is a very strong shooter. I punch thru 1/4" plywood (target backstop) at like 50 yards.
I'm not real good with yardage estimates yet, but I just went thru and thru a gallon water jug at I think about 70 yards. If, as one of the other guys indicated the 46 has
the same power plant as the 350 magnum, I say you can't go wrong. Now I got my 350 used from a local gun shop  for $300. It was in better shape than a brand new .177
in the same shop (the .177 had gotten dinged up on the bottom of the stock, and they would give no allowance). So seems to me that $250 w/scope in good condition is
a pretty fine deal.

Phil

That's a GREAT deal if it is in nice shape!!!  On the Dianawerk there is a bit of a following re the 46.  Owners say it is a very pleasant, accurate gun to shoot, plus doesn't look bad at all.  .22 is also a good choice for it.  Remember, "pleasant" doesn't mean whimpy or boring.  The 46 preceded the 460 and is a well-thought-out platform.  If it were local to me, you would see some of my guns on the classifieds to take advantage of that deal.

I have a RWS 46 in 177 that I got used, but like new without a scope for $200.  It is a fine air rifle, it is not really a magnum gun like the 350, it is more of a 850-900 fps gun.(780 fps in 22)  It is very easy to cock, and does look a lot like my RWS 460.  I love the flip up loading chamber!  You can cock the gun, and close the under lever...then open the pop up loading port, and load the pellet.  No chance of a "bear trap" here!  Mime works well with JBS Exacts, Beeman Kodials, RWS Supermags.  It does not have the power of the 350, it won't pematrate as many cans as my 350 (also 177).  The rear sight is aft of the loading chamber...and gives you a long sight radius, but I think it must be removed in order to scope the rifle.  The RWS 46 has a very long scope rail.  I had a scope on mine...but I now have it back to iron sights.  The RWS 46 is a real nice, very well made air ridfle.  Buy it!  Being a under lever, the barrel is fixed, and it is a very accurate gun.  I have a older Dynamit Nobel RWS Precision Products catalog and it calls the 46 "Our latest entry in the magnum field combines the best features from several of our air guns.  They claim 950 fps in 177, 780 fps in 22.  The 46 has a shorter powerplant than the 350.  The 46 is 12" long, the 350 is 14 3/4", the 460 is 14", and the 48 is 13 1/4".  So the RWS 46 has a shorter mainspring than the 350 magnum, by about 2 3/4".  The 46 has a nice adjustable trigger...mine is a joy to shoot!  I love the way it looks and feels, and it is very nice with the open sights...so that is how I shoot it.  All my other RWS guns are scoped.  I have a 48, 48/52, 350 Magnum, 460 Magnum, and a 54 recoil less air rifle.  All are in 177 except the 460 Magnum which is in 22.  Buy it!  If you later don't want it...I would buy it from you...it would go well with my 46 in 177.  My 46 shoots real good at 10, and 25 yards!  one half inch groups at 25 yards with RWS Meisterkugeln, R-10 match pellet, and JSB diablo Exact 8.4 gr.  My 46 even shoots the Beeman Kodiak well.

Hey Jorge Lopez, Like do you live in Canada, eh?  Like I lived in Arborg Manatoba, and London Ontario years ago for a while.  Next week a friend of mine is going to visit The Great White North!   He wil enter Canada from western Michigan, and will visit Port Huron, London, Toronto, then drive east to Ottawa, and Montreal Quebec, Quebec and then Riviere du Poup.  what is the weather like now, and do they speak French in Quebec?  Hey like it would be good to know, eh?

The model 46 was the RWS answer to the Air Arms TX 200.  It had lower power than the TX though.  Check the Pyramid air blog.  I think they had a rewiew on it a few years ago.

Thanks for all the posts everyone. Sounds like a nice rifle and a great deal. Surely if I didn't like it I could sell it on this forum...that I have no doubt. I wonder why RWS dropped this model. Many dealers show it discontinued.

So, you buy it yet?  I'll bet that, if you do, we won't be seeing it here on the classifieds for a long time if ever.

Frank;  I don't know anything about an "E" model, but as I write this, I am looking at an older Dynamit Nobel RWS catalog.  They list:
1. Product code 216 6190 caliber 177 46 standard
2. Product code 216 6195 caliber 22 46 carbine
3. Product code 316 6198 caliber 177 Stuzen  According to Glen at UMAREX this one is still being imported.  Look on the net, I did find a RWS catalog in German, on a German site, they still had the RWS 46 listed.  I will see if I can find it again.  I have a RWS 46 standard in 177, and it is a great gun.  Easy to cock, and very accurate.  It is listed at 950 fps in 177, the 22 carbine is listed at 780 fps in 22  The Stuzen is a full stock, stocked to the muzzle version.
