As you can tell, I'm so old that I didn't know enough to use a catchy username - so what you see, is what you get. I've been lurking around the site for awhile and decided to jump in after I got my GRTIII trigger and installed it on my .22 Whisper. That's when it all went south. Been addicted ever since.
I've been a shooter for many years - Army (two tours in the Nam), IPSC, Hunter Safety Instructor, Concealed Carry Instructor, etc. With all that, I have shot out my ears even though I have used protection when possible (that almost sounds obscene - sorry Gene). After retiring some years ago after 31 years of military, I started working on another serious addiction, pipe smoking and collecting. I have often put down more than the cost of a TX200 for a new Dunhill pipe just so I could fill it up and break it in. That all stopped in April when I lost a third of my tongue to cancer. Now they're worrying over my prostate and this is all cutting in to my Harley riding (Did Death Valley last year - a Hoot).
So, I have come back. It's not the kill - it's the shot. I have been around the world many times and been to a couple of county fairs and even a goat roping, so it takes alot to impress me. GTA impresses me!!! I have only been a registered user for about a week and had trouble signing in with the password Gene gave me. After email exchange he has made it so even this idiot can come aboard. And he did that within four days of his accident. Having broken both of my legs over the years, I know what it took for him to worry about my problem. And he agreed to put both my rammed Whispers (yes I have a .17 on the way) through the tune when he begins again.
Long thread to say I'm proud to be among the greatest people in the world. May it remain that way.
Bob Fairchild (yes Virginia, that's my user name too!)
