SCAM response to my 350 Magnum Sale!
« on: May 16, 2009, 04:13:41 AM »
I get these all the time in my work email- things telling me I'm the winner of $4,500,000 Euros and such.  I've also seen that Gene had a problem with somebody trying to purchase his AirArms with a counterfeit check.  So here's a response that I got this morning:
-- --------------------------------

"Hello Seller,
I want to know if your advert is still available for sale?. kindly get back to me today with the present condition of the advert."

Thanks..
 +447035994211
----------------------------------

Okay.  First off, any telephone number with a plus before it is out of the country.  Second, any time they use the term "kindly" as in "kindly get back to me" or "if you would be so kind" chances are- they are in Kenya or some other third world country.

I'm gonna have some fun with this one, guys!  I've responded and asked what they've got to offer which, we ALL know it will be more money than I'm asking for the gun!  I'll keep you posted as it plays along...

Will do, Gene.  Thanks for responding!  The other buyer I've got for the gun seems to be a little weird too.  He wanted to pay by cashiers check as opposed to Postal M.O. which tells me he may be a fraud too.  I'm not sending a damn thing to anyone without a check clearing first.  I've also contacted my cousin(DEA) to do a search on both names!  He's got the tools to tell if anything's fake or not!

I would have been a billionaire if I collected the suppose to be  lottery winnings they say I have in Europe, Africa, China, Japan & other country I never sent foot on. These are type of phising & scimmers. If its too good to be true then it must be a scam or definitely one.

Good to hear that Matt, and that is the safe way to do it. Have the bank check the checks for authenticity.

An Attorney?!   I would rather send it to Africa than sell it to an attorney.  I have paid these bloodsuckers $$$$$$$ over the years for their lame over priced "services".   I would donate it to the Boy Scouts before I ever dealt with an attorney.   If your not carefull, the idiot could shoot himself in his foot and then sue you for it.   Claim that you ,  some how was negligent in selling it to him.   Beware!!!   Snakes!!!!!

------------------------------
Hello,

My Name is Andreas Corona, I saw your ADs on the internet about the RWS 350 Magnum .22 which you posted.

I will like to purchase the gun, thats if is still available? Also want to know your Final asking price? the condition of the item and if any pictures i will really appreciate it. More so what is your mode of payment?

Looking forward to hearing from ASAP.

Regards.

So like, if this goober actually READ the sales ad; if he actually LOOKED at the pictures he'd already have his answers!  I'm gonna have some fun with him too!

Matt,

You won't get a response.  What these people (computers really) are doing is validating email addresses.  I tell people never to respond to these and if you get the request for a "read" response don't do it.  What they are doing is skimming email addresses.  They send an email to see if you respond.  If you do then they now have a "qualified" email address.  Two things then happen...either you go on a list that they sell or they can send you another email with attachments that can harbor malware (think keystroke loggers, or bots that use your email to launch other spam).  In anycase, the best thing to do if you get odd or unsolicited mail is to immediately delete it.  Never answer it.

Thanks for the prompt response to my mail. I will be buying from you, so please kindly withdraw the advert from AIRGUNS. NET.

Please be informed that I will be paying with Money Order.Anyways, I'll not be available for the pick-up due to much engagement with me this season, but my intention is to hire a mover to pick it up.

Note UPS' do not deliver to P.O.Box addresses.I will need the following details to mail out the payment.

1.Name to be on the payment

3.Cell phone #

I am completely satisfied with the advert and the payment will be delivered within 2-3 working days.** I use a hearing impaired phone # and will receive your calls via email.Kindly delete the posting as am totally committed to buying from you to save me cost.Until then remain blessed and take good care of yourself for me.

2) He's got a PO BOX and needs to send a courier- NO wait- a MOVER!
3) He wants to answer my cell phone calls via email!

My Response- LOL! To SCAMMER #2!!!
« Reply #12 on: May 18, 2009, 01:09:24 PM »
So here's my response!  Enjoy!
---------------------------------------

Hello again Andreas,

Thankyou for your kind words and hospitality!  It's a really nice gun and needs a good home.  I have no problem at all giving you the sale- the other offers weren't as good.  I presume you'll take good care of it?

My information is as follows:

J. Edgar Hoover(Zen)
5740 University Heights
San Antonio, TX 78249

My cell# is: 210-225-6741

I've usually got the phone with me so feel free to call between 9:00am and 6:00pm central time.  Oh, and don't worry about having a mover come and pick up the gun- my cousin delivers these things for me.  I have your IP address and have given it to cousin for delivery.  He'll deliver the gun- he's alot faster than UPS and FedEx combined!  He's deaf and knows ASL just like you so he has all the necessary components to make conversation with you.  His name is Nimitz.  He's in international waters right now but will be headed your way soon!

Thankyou and looking forward to hearing what you think of how this thing shoots.
