I would seriously consider a Marauder, multi-shot, decent build, foster fitting for fill, good barrel, as quiet as it gets, very reasonable cost for a decent built PCP. Another route to consider is a used Air Arms, or BSA rifle. One thing to think about, 45 FPE is pretty high up the scale for an air rifle. There are certainly are rifles that will hit that and more but it usually requires some compromise, lower shot count, increased noise being the two biggest. Most decent PCP rifles will hit 18-23 FPE, and 25-35 FPE in .22 without giving up a decent shot count.
The current stable, (arsenal, quiver?): BSA Lightning XL .177, BSA Sportsman HV .22, BSA Ultra .177, CZ634 .177, Daystate Harrier X .177, TAU 200 Senior .177, HW 97 .177, HW 50s .177, HW 30 .177, RWS 92 .177, Gamo 126 MC Super, Gamo Big Cat .177, AR2078A, QB78 .177, Quest 1000 .177, Beeman SS650 .177., Beeman P17 .177.

I was impressed when Joe Joe came to my home to visit with his friend Amad. They both had some very beautiful air rifles. I was very impressed with the build quality and handling of Amad's HW 100S. One of the smoothest shooting PCP's that I have shot so far. Joe Joe broke out the Blizzard .22 which if I am not mistaken will push lead up to 45 FPE. Very nice build and comparable to the Korean PCP.s in quality. It was amazingly accurate and very quiet. I never asked Joe Joe what the shot count was but I did drop my chin when I saw him standing and shooting the tops off of daisies at 40 yards. Quite impressive to say the least..:)

Jorge - Gotta ask.  What do you want to do with 45fpe.  Elephants don't live in North America anymore.  Take that equation out and you have many quality air guns you can buy and you won't have to fill it every ten shots.     Paul

i want to thank everyones input in your helpful desicion making situation on a purchase of my first pcp .i had very intellegent answers and opinions and im so glad that many of the ones that responded r very experinced in airguning and were very honest and straight to the point. now the hard part comes into play with me .i have to take at least two weeks to decide my chioce since they r many ..1.the marauder is low in noise and its a reapter, dont cost much but pump or scuba tank is a choice i have to decide on and i dont know cause i dont have no experience in pcps .2the blizzard very powerful accurate friendly with neighbors but once again pump or scuba tank .3.a talonss cause it friendly accurate ,powerful, and not to expensive and compact.thanks to everyone ...GOD BLESS US ALL IN THIS AIRGUN FORUM FROM MY HEART TO YOURS .......JORGE ...

George,,,, you're gonna run into that "pump / scuba" dilemma no matter which PCP you buy, it just goes "hand in hand".

As you know, I have a Talon and a Condor and there aren't words to describe how much I love those rifles,,,,, that being said though I would say the Marauder sounds like it might be the best choice for you.  Low fill pressure shooting options, magazine fed, all kinds of adjustments you can make on the rifle to tune it to your shooting preferences, quiet as the proverbial  "mouse breaking wind"  :) ,,,  American made, already set up for slings, and judging from the reviews so far seems to be performing up to expectations.   Sounds like one heck of a a package for the price.....  just my 2 cents......

I had that delima of the Pump/Scuba Tank, back when I bought my first PCP. I decided on the pump but after the first fill, I wished I had put the $300.00 for an FX pump towards a scuba tank, yoke and hose.. So I sold my pump for $150.00 and bought a new 80cc scuba tank for $149.00 and the rest of the stuff for $160.00. For a total of $309.00. Some times we have to make a mistake before we realize what we should have done in the first place...:) Now I have two 80cc tanks, and just have to lean over with my PCP and pick up the fill hose, insert and turn valve to fill....:)

Let me see.. I had them last filled in November. I have gotten at least 20-30 fills so far filling my FX Cyclone, AA-410 Classic, BSA Ultra, and my AA S200TA. They are down to 2700 psi now but still plenty of fills left. I normally do not filll my PCP's all the way to 3000 psi. So I still have plenty of fills left. Probably go down to the scuba shop where I get them filled for $5.00 the first of June or when my leg is available..:)

Jorge my T.T. Condor will do 46 F.P.E. (Beeman Kodiaks .22 Cal. 21.1 Gr. 1000Fps) and is  quiet as can be. I get 40 shots from 900 to 1000 to 900 Fps. I can shoot 1/2 groups at 50 yards all day long under the right conditions no problem. Tony is THE MAN!!

L GIVE U AT LEAST 45 FPE ,LENTH OF BARREL ,

Wow, just get a .22 powder burner.  You can pick one up for $150, costs a nickle a shot or a couple of cents if you buy ammo in bulk.  You can get up to 165 ft-lbs. You can shoot shorts and they'll still out power just about anything and are pretty quiet in a long gun.  My advice is a CZ452 Trainer. Dead accurate, cheap at about $250. No pumping, lots of power.

I wonder why people go to the super complexity required in very high power air rifles.   It seems to me to miss the whole point.

What would 45 ft-lbs do for you that 25 wouldn't?
