B40 Cocking Arm Question

Hey guys, I recently saw a picture of someone's B40 with some kind of heatshrink wrap on the cocking lever.  I think it was there to give a better gripping surface as well as to protect the finish of the lever.  Does anyone have an idea of where to get that kind of wrap or are there other options?  I thought it added to the looks of the gun.  Thanks, Joe

Would that be the same stuff they dunk tool handles into, which dries to a rubbery touch?  Home Depot?

I tried going back and locating the picture but I can't find it now.  

It might be dipped in some rubber compound but if I remember correctly, it was referred to as heatshrink wrap.   I was wondering if someone had used this material and where it could be found and cost?  The only complaint I have for my B40 is that the lever is somewhat cumbersome to repeatedly unlatch for extended shooting sessions.  Thanks, Joe

How 'bout a hobby shop.  I know they sell meltable moldable styrene.  If it's just for looks, they'd have some Monokote that you shrink on with a heat gun or iron.  How 'bout some wire/cable shrink tubing - you could seal/close off one end I suppose.

Go to electrical supply and ask for "heat shrink tubing".  It comes in various diameters as needed.  Just slip it over the arm and heat with hairdryer, torch, etc.

Does heatshrink tubing have any thickness to it?  The picture that I saw (and wish I could find again) seemed to have a little bit of thickness to it.  I'm looking for something that not only protects but is easier to grab.

well that dippin' stuff would work, but I'm pretty sure that you can get different thicknesses of tubing.

Used for sealing splices/joins in wire...
Hobby shops may have the smaller sizes...
but fined a shop/outlet that surplys to the
eletrical trade "sparkys"
