A Creation of mine

 I have a customer that wanted a stacked Washington birch bark and South Texas mesquite flyrod..



I had to cut up the bark in 1.5 inch round pieces and drill a hole in them... all 50 of em, stack them up like washers and cap the ends with Mesquite.. I then turned down a reel seat middle and a butt cap for the end..



Here is what the bark looks like when i get it from the canoe factory.. and here it is in finished handle form...

 Timmy J I thank you for your kind words.. Its a passion of mine to put out these flyrods and sell them all over America.. No 2 are the same.. They are art!!! Thats what they were mean't to be all along.. Butt they are functional ART.. Rod art at its finest, built to bring in that trophy fish.....

It has been a while since I used a fly rod Randal,, but,,, I bet with a few hours of practice I could cast some mighty tight "groups" with one of your rods!! 8)  He He!!  Timbo.

This guy has $1100.00 in it now and if he makes another change, like gold cervet eyes, its going way up buddy... lol I love this stuff.. when the economy has me down and the world is wierd I get to sit and play with my little toys and create stuff to forget about the crappppp thats going around me.....

Another fly rodder eh?  Very nice work!!!

If those rich guys want to spend their money on a rod of that class that won't catch trout any better than something in the $200 range, then who are you to stop them?  I wouldn't be able to bring myself to fish that beautiful rod (it is art after all), so I would never buy one in my current financial situation.  For that kind of money I could buy several custom rods in diferent sizes and weights, and each would excel at a specific task.

Is that the same rod you brought with you to the NTAGM shoot?  Pretty cool!  I've not seen anything like that before.  Those flies you were showing me looked pretty bad-@ss too!  We gotta do some fishin', dude!
