new rifle
« on: June 09, 2009, 01:04:55 PM »
so i am going to keep my shadow express and just use the shotgun aspect. I like the way it shoots 7.5 shot. now i am looking for a rifle that hits consistant at 45 yds. i have seen alot about the whisper and kinda leaning in that direction. noise is not a concern of mine so i was thinking there might be another gun for me as well. also I dont know if i want a .177 or a .22 this gun is going to be used for rabbit, and squrell etc. and alot of target plinking. can somebody please help me make up my mind. :p

Lotsa guns out there,,,, unless you just have your heart set on another GAMO I'd consider some of the others.   How about an RWS 34 Panther ??  I have one in .22 and I have to tell you, it's one heck of a small game rifle.....   Deadly accurate, nice shooting, well balanced, well made and excellent power.  It quickly became one of my favorite small game springers.  The .177  Panther is a good option also for small game.

The Panther is just one gun that comes to mind.... Like Neil said,,,, you really need to state your spending limit as well as some other criteria in order to receive good recommendations.   Side cocker ??  Under lever ??  Light ?  Heavy ?  etc.......

There's also a Mike Mellick B-26,,, you can never go wrong with one of them.....

I'm sure others will chime in with their suggestions......

Kenny,
With your budget in mind I suggest maybe calling Mike (see link) a tuned b-26 in .22 would be be a good choice http://www.airgunartisans.com/flying dragon/
Or the RWS 34  in .22 is another good choice Natchez have them for $175 bucks I think?   I love mine, light enough to carry around and accurate.  One other thing may come up is to get a good one piece mount and if the rws is a choice it has droop so use the "rws lock down drooper mount for the scope ,midwayusa were selling them for$29 bucks. This will lead to scope question and to keep in budget maybe the walmart centerpoint 4-16x40 may work for you?
There are ton of other choices out there, I know others with way more experience will likely chime in also this is a great forum  :) Btw I think tuning is good advise...Good luck with choices, Tony

A good option would be a BAM 30 in .22. they are ridiculously powerful. Another good option is the TAC1 by crosman. Powerful, quiet and accurate. Or better yet, the BAM 28, which is a copy of the RWS 350 magnum.
