Guys I'm telling you the B25 with 3-9x40 AO scope is a STEAL at $139!  Check out bestairgun.com.  They sell the B26 for the same price but no scope.  Normally I wouldn't recommend a combo scope because they are destined for the garbage but this one is actually quite nice.  Very bright and clear.  It loves Silver Bears and one holes them at 740-750 fps!

Interesting article there bentong. I just wish when someone writes an informative review like that, they should tell you where, and what kind of seal or O ring, they used for a breach seal...maybe a part number. I've looked all over Lowes and can't find anything that looks like a breech seal.

I want to put in my agreement with Chinagunner and the others who suggested guns from Mike Melick. I just got a B26-2 in .177 from him. Sure the B26 is supposed to be a great gun out of the box untuned - But -  as with all lower priced guns, QC is sometimes hit or miss. I've been through the route of buying a reputable gun only to have to take or send it back because of a problem which may or may not get resolved. At least with a tuned gun up front, there is way far less chance of a problem and the benefits are a major plus. From personal experience and from his reputation here on the forum, Mike takes care of you no matter what. Now a plug for Gene_SC, if he sold guns he would do the same thing for you. Therefore I strongly suggest you consider the B-25 (RWS 34), B-28 (RWS 350), or the B-30 (RWS 48). Mike has announced that it might be a while before he gets the B-26 in .22.  Terry

that's B-30 (RWS 48) - must have hit the wrong button.

I sincerely appreciate all of your comments and effort in helping me in my quest. I see that large majority of you are big fans of B-26.
In past few days I have done a lot of reading on the TF 89 Contender.22cal.
It came to me as a little surprise that no one here has it in his arsenal or would be willing to rate it.
The only thing I am little bit vary of is it's trigger. There may be a reason it is not too light. After all it is not 177 and it packs a lot of power.
The power combined with its looks and the Compasseco package price are the factors that will most likely drag my finger to the button next week.
Still would like to hear from the owner or this particular model on this forum.

Thanks everybody for the input and you all  have a nice weekend!

TF89 = AR1000 = SS1000T = few other model names that I don't remember now. Small differences like badging and checkering but the same gun. Very good two stage trigger that you most likely need to adjust yourself to your liking (mine had no instructions for that). Quite powerful and well suited for .22 cal capable of providing about 800 fps or even a bit more. Made by Shanghai airgun factory. There's also a version with bad single stage trigger that you should not consider.
If some is good and more is better - then too much is just right.

Paul, the SAE/Imperial -011 size or Metric P8 o-rings both work as replacement seals for the Beemans and TF89.

Ivan, a number of us here have TF89s. I do, Jeff (longislandhunter) does, and several others do as well.  Do a search for TF89 and you'll see quite a few posts from about the beginning of 2008 on. Our own Gene_SC does tunes on them and other AR-1000 derivatives if you find you need it.  Early examples suffered from undersized piston seals, but Compasseco (and maybe UMAREX, since they distribute the Hammerli Titan and Walther Force 1000 derivatives) has replacements that are larger and fit better and these may be in current production rifles now.

I have a Hammerli Titan .177 which is an AR1000 variation just like the TF 89. I can vouch for it's power, accuracy and its true 2 stage trigger. Matter of fact, Gene_SC has stated that he believes it's one of the finest triggers you can get on the lesser expensive guns. Look at the Chinese forum and there is a lot of information on the TF89 and the other AR 1000 guns (look for information on the Beeman RS2 trigger). When I got mine I do remember that it had a rather harsh firing cycle - definitely a beast that you have to learn to handle. I replaced it with a RWS 460 and the 460 shot smoother. And the TF89 is  BIG and HEAVY - for bench shooting it's alright but I would hate to lug it around in the woods. But the TF89 would definitely do the job. I've only owned 3 guns (besides an old B3) the Titan, the RWS 460 and the B26. As for shooting pleasure, the B26 wins hands down. Just my 2 cents.  Terry

You must be referring to a trigger assembly here. These are not the same guns.

They are all made in a same factory using same tools and design (a copy of german design). Small details of stock, finish etc. are changed to differentiate all the brand labels sold by different retailers. Same guns sold under different brands. Pick the one you like best.

Difference between TF 89 & RS2 . TF89 has checkering, single caliber & $100 more than the RS2 which come with a 177 & 22. These air rifle variants are not recommended to those with a problem carrying7lbs around and have weak cocking arm.

Forgive my ignorance, but RS2 is a trigger not a rifle. There is very little simmilarity in Beeman RS2 ( which btw, has several models)and Contender. Then difference in these 2 guns is NOT just 100 bucks and  lack of checkering.
It would be like calling 2brand new Corvettes with a 20 grand price diferrence the same vehicle.  Contender is not RS2. Not by price, looks or performance. Period.
