Don't know to much about over sea guns.... The 9x18mm is a little smaller then the 9mm round (the 9mm round is 9x19mm)... As for the Rifle ammo I think I see a 7.9mm?? if that's the case it's a little bigger then the the 30-06 round (30-06 round being 7.62mm) The 9x18mm might belong to a Makarov, Don't really know though.

EDIT: Hey Timmy how long is the rifle ammo? Now that I think of it, if the ammo is 57mm long it might be for a Mauser

The 9X18 ammo is for the Makarov pistol. The box says it's Chinese. The Chinese manufactured a copy of the Makarov pistol which IIRC is the Model 59 made by Norinco.
rifle ammo haven't a clue

Not sure of the milimeters Cody,, the rifle rounds are 3-3/16" long. I was hopeing it would be usefull,, sure would be a shame to have 60 boxes of useless ammo. :0 I already was pretty sure the 18 boxes of pistol ammo were not very usefull. :0 Tim. EDIT,, Sure wish I would have found 78 boxes of pellets instead!!

Timmy,

from what I looked up, that seems to be an 8mm sniper round.
Can you get a close up of the rear of one of the rounds.
It would help in better identification.

The rifle round is a 7.92 Mauser. Timmy if you give me a close up pic of the box I'll try to read it.

Your close-up photo skills are better than my Russian!

All I know there is no word "Mauser" on that box.

Obviously the small round on the left is for a hand gun & the longer is rifle ammo. I have some 380 pistol rounds that look pretty close to that pic on the left.

Yes as others have said the 9x18 was chambered for the Makorav Pistol. the 7.9 i believe is the 8mm sniper round. My friends dad has one and let me tell you that thing isnt mucch of a sniper rifle they would definately hear you before they saw you. lol. It is not quiet by any means what so ever.

What ever that rifle ammo is, I will bet it is corrosive primed since the box is marked (November?) 1956.  US .30-06 M-1 ball was corrosive up until the early 1950's.  Free ammo ain't so free when you have to buy a gun to shoot it, LOL!  Be careful of that old fodder there, Timmsky!
