More about son Graeme
« on: June 21, 2009, 06:57:11 PM »
Well,  we didn't have long to enjoy Graeme's release from the hospital as we took him back, again , last Friday night with breathing problems. Turns out he has pneumonia this time and will probably be in ICU for some time. He is responding to antibiotics and breathing treatments, but it's really knocked the wind out of his sails. He has been on a ventilator since his arrival, but they are cutting back on the amount of O2 added in with the air. He does have to have meds to keep up his blood pressure and his heartrate down, bu tTrudi said he is resting comfortably today. Just hoping that the treatments, his strong will and the Hand of God lets us bring him home whole soon to begin what will probably be a long recovery, much like Eric had in 2007. Thanks for all the GTA kind thoughts and prayers!

Ric G

PS: The backyard shooting range looks like a disaster as I haven't had the time or energy to do anything about yardwork, much less spend any time shooting. I think all the targets are under the dry grass and weeds somewhere as I have seen some vestiges of the reset strings here and there. Spent some quality time with Eric last night and today. We went to a local Irish Pub for Sheperd's Pie and a glass of Harp( After all, Eric is 21 now!) last evening. Today we went to lunch, then to see the new "Terminator" movie and picked up some mexican grilled chicken for dinner. Eric is usually "my guy" while Trudi takes care of Graeme, but he's been feeling a little left out as I've been spending more time with Graeme at home to giveTtrudi a bit of a break. Now that G has pneumonia, we haven't been going to the hospital everyday( to protect Eric from the pneumo.) so I will be doting on Mr. E a lot more.

Thanks everyone. Cultures came back today and he has a couple of infections as well as the pneumo, but no fever and he's is in a good mood and feeling no pain. Guess all the drugs aren't just for fighting infections. Told him to keep fighting to get well and that he was getting lots of support from many distant friends.
