Any plans for a hunting forum?
« on: June 24, 2006, 10:05:40 AM »
I love tin cans, paper targets & chrony numbers all good & well. But, I really like the graphic hunting pictures that some general forum members may find offensive. I know there are hunting forums out on the web & don't want anyone to feel their toes are being stepped on. I just feel a hunting forum with a warning about graphic pics could help avoid potential problems with some members being offended. Just my opinion.

I'd love a hunting forum. Particularly because I am new to it and I like to know what pellets people have success with on a given target animal.

As much as I love hunting, this agrees with me too. I think it would make a great addition to this site.

Maybe Gene can be talked into it if enough ppl show enough interest? I've been hunting with rimfires on small game for years & air rifles are equally as fun & challenging. More challenging than shooting a deer at the feeder with a 30.06, huh?

Sounds good to me guys. If you all think we have enough interests then I will put it up. But who is gonna moderate that one???  :)

You guys toss it around, OK

I don't get to hunt like most might, but I do get to get a few rats in my small " backyard range"  .  tree rats are a pest  and I try to get them when I can.  almost burned the house down  a few years back , electrocuted themselves. one neighbor likes that I rid the area of them , they have a few pecan trees and they just destroy the pecans to the point that none are left. but than others don't care for me doing it,so one say yea  the other nay.  but I'll still shoot them.

make a good point in that any picture that is graphic should be stated on the front end in respect for others that may not like exposure to that kind of material.

I know graphic pics aren't for everyone. I also think the offensive & tasteless pics posted on other forums should be avoided. I decapitated squirrel doesn't bother me but making fun of a person with special needs is not cool!

I don't generally hunt with airguns but I think that a 'Hunting Gate' would be a neat thing, if that sort of thing is possible. Lacking that, I agree with those who would have 'Graphic' at the beginning of those type of posts with photos. Not squeamish, just not interested.

Hunting Forum
« Reply #10 on: June 26, 2006, 01:45:05 AM »
Charlie and myself have discussed the idea of a hunting forum. We both agree that it would be a great source for our community and for the air gunners that love to hunt.

Today I will put up a new Forum.......... Hunting Gate............... First we have to have a moderator and D. Miller has volunteered his services. In case he does not feel he has the time to monitor it we will have to have another monitor. Let me check with him and if he still wants to monitor the "Hunting Gate" forum then we are set. Just remember that inappropriate pictures will not be allowed and will be removed.

Thanks for the great idea for the new forum D.Miller

I would be delighted to help moderate the hunting forum. I would make a suggestion that 2 moderators would be better than 1, so maybe co-moderators would be more appropriate due to the fact that graphic pics may need to be deleted. Just my opinion.

Donnie

Bob and myself will look in on the new forum at this point but you will be the main moderator until you give up the position.

We appreciate your willingness to participate in this new forum. We hope that other members will come fourth with great ideas to continually make our GTA the best air gunner forum there is...:)

Remember: This forum belongs to our members. Our members will control its development and popularity. Neither Bob nor myself can make this forum the Greatest forum by our selves.
