Will the 79 action fit into a chopped qb78 stock?

The action and gas tube are the same size...the QB79's tube is just short and has that gas block on the end.

The gas block is inletted into the QB79 stock and can be inletted into a chopped QB78 stock.  You could  cut the stock back shorter than a QB79 stock and leave the block hanging out in the open, but the extra support of being inleted in and those two stock screws are a help supporting the weight of the co2 tank.

Have managed to inlet some full length QB78 stocks for that gas block, making long tubed QB79's out of them.  Hand tools will do the trick if you work carefully.
