Longhair No More!
« on: July 07, 2009, 04:21:35 AM »
I made an appointment and cut it all off this morning.  Had her do a #3 around the back and the sides and kept a little top length.  I officially LOOK Imperialist just like all the rest of em' out there!  The sad part is that there was a "person" here the whole time.  The world has discriminating eyes and if I had a nickel for every time someone looked at my hair and not my resume I'd own one of every airgun known to man and it's that simple!

Did I do this to comform?  No.  Did I do it for respect?  No.

I have simply udjusted to an otherwise, discriminating society.

Glad to be one of the herd again!  Just don't go thinking this rebel thinks any differently.

Matt,,now you can understand why I am bald!!!LOL! :p  Honestly I can understand your feelings toward the discriminating looks you were getting, I sometimes get that because of how I speak/sound,especially when I moved out to Long Island! :emoticon:

Well Joe-Joe that's just the quality of society we live in.  Superficial, isn't it?

I cut my long hair about 8 years ago and never looked back. My wife often laments the loss but, oh well, short hair is so much easier to maintain, and wash, and comb, and cut.

I did not notice a difference in the way I was treated, but I went from 18 inch long curly hair to shaved bald. People still looked down on me because of the way I look. Even earlier this year I had a 6 inch goatee with shaved head and people still look at me weird.

I got short hair, what's left of it. I get this old guy to do a free hand Flat Top when it needs it. Still looks cool, and says something.

All I know is that with the flat Top I got that pilot better being aiming for the middle, cause the sides are missing.

Wow Matt! I have to confess that I'm a little disappointed. Besides, I have always had a thing for guys with long hair. I guess it will take you less time to take care of in the morning.   :D

Peak, I've got three braids in my collection now!  One's a foot and half long, the other is 10 inches long and this one's about a foot long.  I'm one of those guys that have been blessed with zero hair loss.  It'll grow back!  I mean, come the NTAGM shoot in 2011 I'll be right back where I started!

Thanks though for your kind words.  It's usually the ladies that notice such things!

Matt, we ought to have a picture...
Those of us who know you expect no major change. Heck, you still wear the saffron robes and the buffalo sandals, don't you?
On a recumbent bike, you will still be almost as distinctive as before. ;-)

Oh Jerry, I'm no Hare Krishna...   it's MY BOSS that runs around around in the saffron robe and Buffalo sandals!  I get a steady paycheck out of it so I tolerate him for the most part.  I'll see if I can't get a picture up at some point today.  It may have to wait til I get home.  I know that some folks freak out after they get as much hair cut off as I did but I'm quite comfortable with it.  I'm not on tour anymore, I don't have a million chicks to impress in the next town and the next and the next.  My ego has tamed down considerably since that 1992 tour and I wouldn't have it any other way.  No record deal- no need to keep the hair.  I have my own office today!

I knew that, Matt - just ribbing you. I didn't know about the 92 tour, but I know you can play and sing pretty well.
Are you planning on coming to FW on the 18th?
