My Other Toy

AR15

It cost to much to shoot unless you use the .22 cal conversion bolt and mag I have.
This should get a ground Hog.

Never could warm up to the "black rifles", although I have one (a Val Met .23, the Finish/NATO version of the AK-47) which my baby daughter and now mom of my granddaughter covets.  I am more of a Mini-14 and M1A sort of guy.  And for the cost of a .22 converted CAR-15, you could buy a heck of a nice bolt action .22 or a Ruger 10-22 and have money left over for a nice scope.  Boys and their toys, no?

PS:  Hey, Joe Cuz -- the Hawke Eclipse 30 atop the CZ-527 works great and I can (occasionally) shoot MOA at 100 yards with the new rig.  Thanks.

True, if you can't find a used .22 conversion unit, they can be pricey...

The conversion unit does allow some "cheaper" trigger time out of it...  I enjoy mine in the M4 configured EBG (evil black gun)...  Same trigger, etc..Much lower cost!

I passed on a conversion for the Swiss K-31, was more than i was willing to spend, but that would have been a hoot!

I'm spending more time working my horrible offhand with air than with powder....And making some little progress..  :)

I have the whole day to myself Saturday (today).  I have meticulously cleaned and oiled several old and new friends and plan to take them out and feed them breakfast, lunch and dinner at the 100-yard range.  Here's what will be on the menu:

7mm Rem Mag in 185gr soft point and 150gr ballistic tip, .308 Rem in 165gr Nosler and 150gr FMJ, .243 Rem in 95gr ballistic tip and 115gr soft point, .223 Rem in 52gr BTHP and 55gr ballistic tip, and .17HMR in 17 gr BTHP and 17gr ballistic tip.

And here are two old friends from Belgium who haven't "spoken" to me in several years.  We have some catching up to do.  This may be an expensive meal, but what the heck, they are some of my best friends.
