airgun shootout in Aledo, TX
« on: July 18, 2009, 03:53:50 PM »
The North Texas Airgun Militia had a muster today.

It was a great place, great weather, and great group of guns, guys, and at least one or two gals.

Looks like a great place and good people, REALLY wanted to attend, but life had other plans for me:(   Hopefully in the next couple months my work will slow down a little and I'll actually "visit" Texas for more than just weekends, right now the people behind the counter at the Holiday Inn know me better than my own family....although I DO love the biscuits and gravy breakfast at the Holiday Inn:)  I did manage to put 30 rounds through the S200 this afternoon in my backyard, first shooting I've done in a month or more.  Gonna reserve a day on my calendar for ya so we can get together and shoot on the greenbelt at your place, just let me know when!

I shot a Marauder, an Air Arms Prosport, and a lot of other interesting rifles. It had actually been a while since I shot any of my own rifles, so I had the CZ-634 and the Walther LGR and fiddled around getting sighted. That CZ-634 you tuned for me is still working amazingly well, even out to 40 yds. There were a couple of other CZ fans on hand, we were wondering why someone should import them again (Gene?). Even at $200 or so, it's worth it. Great accuracy and such a solid feel.

The Marauder felt really nice. Lighter than it looks, handles well and it seemed very accurate with the one magazine worth I shot. That dark side mentality is tempting.

Someone had a new Ruger Air Hawk combo, it looks like a heck of a nice gun for the money, shoots well enough stock.

The highlight was meeting several militia members and the great discussions, though.
