Had nothin to do this afternoon so decided to sight in one of the $74 dollar clearance Shadows that I picked up at Walmart awhile back. 2 days ago I installed a Golden Antler scope on the rifle and tody was the 48 hour period I usually wait for the the loc-tite to dry.
It was to cold outside to set up the chrony and test all my .177 pellets like I usually do, so I just grabbed some Crosman Premier pellets and headed out into the cold. I put up a target, backed off about 7 yards and took a shot. Pellet hit about 2 inches directly under the bullseye. I took 2 more shots and both pellets hit the same hole the first pellet had made.
I backed up to 25 yards and within 10 shots had the Shadow shooting dime sized bullseye groups. I shot two 10 shot groups just to make sure the scope was on and each group was dime sized and dead center. It's a good thing the entire process went so quickly because I was now half frozen to death, so I started heading back down into the basement. As I was walking to the basement entrance I saw a starling land in the top of one of the maple trees in the yard. Figured this must be gift from the airgun Gods so I popped a pellet in the gun, aimed, fired and down came a dead starling.
When the weather warms up I'll still go through my routine of firing/chronying all the pellets in my arsenal but it was clear from todays session that the gun just loves those 7.9 gr Crosman Premier domed pellets.
$74.00 for the rifle, $27.00 for that Golden Antler (it was the last one I got at that price) ****the best $101 dollars I ever spent
