I was out back night hunting with the bsa nv combo and when i was done I got up... the dog had been chewing on a bag of small bbq pit style lava rocks and had scattered them all over the deck.. Well it was dark, and the BSA is heavy with that scope so its a 2 hander... I picked it up out of the rest and took a step,,,, barefooted right on the rock, crap that hurt so i instinctively jumped off of it only to land on another with my other foot,, all balance was lost at that point... 2 hands clutching my beauty and falling over bass akwards.. I landed my back left side on the wooden planter square in the mid rib cage.... I fell off the planter still clutching my gun and landed on a few of the rocks and other stuff... NEVER SCRATCHED THE GUN... BUT I had the wind knocked out me so bad I couldn't breath for 10 minutes,, just before I thought I was gunna die I would get a little gasp of air... I layed there on the deck holding my gun wishing I could hollar for help so my wife could come save me, but its hard ta holler with no air...

Now I'm stoved up with 2 broken ribs and a multitude of lava scratches on me...

Thanks Paul for making me laugh again...

Randle,

I'm sorry man, but every time I visualize this in my mind I crack up. I laugh so hard that I have to catch my breath and wipe the tears from my eyes.... Great save on that BSA bud.
That's the way to man up and protect her. I mean ribs will heal but a scratched or damaged rifle would have killed ya.

I never asked, what happened to the dog?
Did you change his name to, you little #*@"+$*

Take care of those ribs bud, I can't afford to have the host of my favorite cooking show out of business.

Boy Randall you almost ended up like me...:) Broken leg and wheel chair for 10 weeks now...:(  Ribs heal easy but the distress of it all certainly must of got you to thinking it could have been worse.. Sorry to hear my buddy has some scuff  marks but they will heal up ok.

Final word...:) At least the gun and scope are ok... hehe

I'm sorry to hear this, and I apologize for laughing.
