Man arrested for shooting squirrels from his home
By Ryan Haggerty of the Journal Sentinel
Aug. 3, 2009 6:48 a.m. | A 51-year-old man who gunned down at least three squirrels from inside his home near N. Teutonia and W. Custer avenues Sunday surrendered to officers after the Milwaukee Police Department's tactical squad was called to the scene.

Neighbors who called police Sunday morning said the man was firing shots from his home between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., according to Deputy Inspector Gregory Thompson.

The man surrendered about 10:40 a.m.

Officers found a gun inside the home and three dead squirrels in his backyard, Thompson said.

Just posted this as food for thought.

"Gunned down"?? The man "gunned down" three squirrels????

That sounds like a very un-biased reporter doesn't it?

Did the article say what kind of gun the man used?

This story does not surprise me!
I was born in Milwaukee many many years ago. When I was a youngster I obtained a Red Ryder by selling seed packs through a comic book ad. Had to sell allot of packs but I managed. The Seed Company sent me the Red Ryder. They were not legal in the city limits but somehow it got through the mail. I knew enough not to take it outside and only shot it in the basement. I did have a friend who lived outside the city and did get to shoot it outside one day only. Do you know some busy  body neighbor reported me for shooting in the basement and the police showed up and took it away from me.
As a boy I delivered the Milwaukee Journal and the Sentinel. Journal being the evening paper and Sentinel being the morning paper. Now they are one.
Back then the city required a license plate for bicycles, they were fifty cents a year and we had to follow all vehicle laws while riding, which meant no riding on sidewalks. They did give tickets for that.  Too  many tickets and that meant a safety class which I did have to attend ,,, I admit..... Frank

The BIG BAD GOVT took a kid's bb gun....although he was shooting in HIS basement. SHAME!!!!

As I mentioned in another post.....where I am.....we're not allowed to shoot anything within city limits. So technically the MAN can come and bust my @ss if someone reported that I'm shooting my bb guns in my basement too.

Perhaps Canada would consider annexing Minnesota and Wisconsin. . .  or would Al Franken be a "poison pill" to any such proposal?  Thank God I was "raised right" and live in the south.
